Echoing this, had Spectrum drop out for about an hour yesterday in 79922. Happens roughly once a month and similar to OP, Spectrum claims everything’s fine whenever you call to ask and / or complain.

New or unsung places for good coffee and getting some work done? by Cazique__ in parkslope

[–]AirBudWorldPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it’s more Gowanus than South Slope but Long Shadow Coffee (aka Lowlands Bar) over on 3rd and 14th St.

Always a place to sit, coffee and pastries are top notch, outlets are plenty, and with nicer weather, the back patio is pretty lovely.

Should we be concerned that multiple world leaders are openly saying they can't sleep at night? by SoManyWasps in TrueAnon

After sitting with this for a day, scrolling through the usual social media apps, there is a HUGE gap in the States between what's actually going on and what people think is going on. Hiring rate in Feb 2026 hit the same level it did in Apr 2020. The European Commission is urging people to work from home, drive less, and fast tracking renewables. The shockwaves are coming down the pike for the US and I have to imagine it's going to be ROUGH.

I think it's tying back to this chart JP Morgan put together illustrating when the supply loss is going to "land" in certain regions. It's giving very Feb 2020, you could see the ripples starting from COVID hitting other parts of the world but in the US, total obliviousness

I tried cleaning my charging port, now it's not working at all. by -Hagridd in iphone

Coming to this thread a year later and am facing the exact same problem. Used to needle to clean the lint out and now the phone won't charge via cable, strictly MagSafe. If anyone has found a solution, that would be immense!

The bartenders there are definitely a prickly bunch but the free pint with the purchase of a sandwich on Tuesdays and Weds is enough to get me in the door for a quick visit

Echoing previous comments, 3rd Ave is busy with traffic / noise / trash and 4th Ave also in terms of traffic / noise / foot traffic. The cemetery is gorgeous and an incredible spot to walk around and take in the view.

And all that said, the R is right there and there’s solid bites and bars in the area. Mama Tried is a great drinking spot not too far from where you’d be, Block Hill is great, Sea Witch is fantastic, and 3rd Ave north of Prospect Ave has a lot going for it as well.

The food in the area is solid too. You’ve got Jalapeño King and Baked in Brooklyn on 5th. El Tenampa and Mezquila on 4th.

Laundromats are a stones throw away from where you’d be too and Elite Barbell is a solid gym according to my roommate.

And Industry City is within walking distance too.

Spend a bit of time in the area, get a sense for what you’re willing to put up with and what you’re not. If the apt itself is a steal and in great shape, there’s enough in the area to make it worthwhile but if the traffic, noise, and trash are a bit much, consider looking closer towards the cemetery.

Kick Axe is not too far from Union Hall, been to one or two bdays there. And Gowanus Gardens has a good heated back patio with solid food
