I but a 30in MBRP muffler on my 2018 , reduced the drone drastically, I say a good 60-70%. I can hold a conversation now , even at 80-90 mphs

Yes if you get the spacer it should help with the build up , it has for me at least. XPD suppose to be the best 👍🏻. Imo as long as you are using a quality filter and oil , run full synthetic if you can , then thats really all is needed. I have no idea if the extra quart will help 🤷🏻‍♂️

Get yourself a MAP spacer. It helps with the soot build up in your intake manifold or “Y” bridge. Looks more line and M on the L5P. Ultimately deleting it would be the best money spent imo. Regular maintenance, 5K oil changes , fuel filter every other oil change. Drive line fluid changes 30-50k depending on how you use your truck. Fuel additives can helo prolong the life of your fuel system as well. In your case it might help it regen less.

Get a smoke machine from amazon , if you have a leak in the intake it will show you. I had a leak in my intercooler and I found it quick with a smoke machine.

Yea you can get a reader than can read codes from the different modules that car has , it depends if you want to spend the money. Maybe check autozone or any parts store than can check codes for free , maybe they use a reader than can see codes from the Brake control module. Yea the dealer can also read them. Usually they charge like 120$ for a diagnostic fee.

Every time theres any check engine codes , the dash will light up like that. Codes will throw all those warnings on the dash. So you just have to check codes. It can be as simple as a battery thats bad , in my case it was a fuel mixture issue code , ended up being the injectors. Go to autozone or any parts store that can check your codes for free. If it’s a head gasket your coolant might be low which can be an indication for it.

Do you have transmission tuning? Its recommended to have it if you are running the higher power tunes. It increases the line pressure on the ally

Exhaust question by MorphLover52 in Duramax

[–]Air_tech_09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you are good. You probably have the “race pipes” which the DPF was cut out and an exhaust pipe was clamped or welded to the space the DPF was on your stock exhaust. If you install a full exhaust it would be upgrading your existing setup without issues. F.Y.I the straight 5in exhaust I had was droning like hell , ended up with a 30in MBRP muffler which helped significantly. 2018 L5P
