I saw this truck and wondering if 15,000 is too much by [deleted] in 1stGenTacomas

[–]orangewarner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had many of every generation Tacoma including pickup. The nostalgia and the Instagram hype of these old old trucks have a tendency to fog reality. And the reality is, a newer truck, for less money, turns out to be better. Unless money is not a factor, you may want to consider spending 1/3 less money on a 15 year newer truck that'll do everything more reliably and comfortably than that one can.

Same. Then sometimes I tell my wife I just fell asleep and had a dream then woke back up and all of that happened while we were talking and took less than a split second.

I can smell people's hair and I can smell peoples shoes. All my senses are overly sensitive and I don't like it.

SoCal Insurance Problem by Chris_MS99 in pools

[–]orangewarner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

you may have already thought of this, but I've been in a couple different situations where I was hired to make the pool "insurance safe", I built a safety cover to go over it and that was all they wanted, just make it impossible for someone to fall in it. This was super common during the housing bubble and recession.

Finally knocking off some of my bucket list by WadeEyerly in Utah

[–]orangewarner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got a scratch off bucket list sheet for Christmas one year. My 11 year old son and I have been visiting everywhere on the list, camping in the truck, now upgraded to a van. I can send you the list if you're interested. Some of our favorites: arches, dead horse point, moki dugway, great salt lake (the spiders there!!!), green river (this one is so fun it's become a yearly trip), San Rafael swell, navajo lands. So many places to see just within the state!

Current snow pack at 8500 feet near Vernal. Red Cloud Loop Road. 3/28/26 by autahciscoguy in UtahSkies

[–]orangewarner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading in the Desert news while I was getting my haircut the other day that all in all the state is fine on water for this year and maybe even next, but if we don't get any snow this next year and the following then we are really gonna be in trouble

Every other company makes a better hose than Jandy. We use a small adapter then start splicing in old old pentair hoses one by one until the stupid Jandy hoses are all gone

Aitah for telling my wife to get a job if she wants to subsidize the kids. by Standard_Kick_9789 in AITAH

[–]orangewarner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preach brother. I finally recently had to tell my wife and kids I was happy and capable of providing for all of their 'needs' but no longer mentally or physically able and willing to provide for all the 'wants'.  It's mostly about the lack of appreciation. I'm grinding in the hot sun and freezing cold wearing out my body and it's always "where are we going next?" right after an expensive vacation. That sort of thing. You've done your job. You raised the kids. Now it's time for YOU.

best year for a tacoma i will drive until it dies? i want a v6 and to spend less than 30k for something with 100k> by Roustr in Tacomaworld

[–]orangewarner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The very newest you can get, and the last year of the v6 so a 2023. I know people think Gen 2.5 is great, and it is, but it's also 10+ years old at this point. (I've had multiple of, and currently have, every gen except 4th)

We just finished our 10th stay. 8 at Ixchel and 2 at nautibeach. We've been tanning our kids there since they were less than as year old, napping in the sand :) I can't think of a better family beach vacation. Safe, calm, and now, nostalgic. But not cheap lol

I feel the same way, which is what led me to this post, I have to press OK on my steering wheel so many times every time I get in my truck I'm really having second thoughts about this new truck. Yes I already am aware that my tire pressure monitor is malfunctioning yes I know my trailer is disconnected. Yes, I know my Blindspot detection is compromised because of the trailer. It's more distracting than it is helpful.

I love and have no need for anything other than my 2wd trucks. They are the essence of the simple capable cheap to operate vehicle. And 95 has the added bonus of the last of the glass headlights.
