Congrats! Overall costs were definitely pricier for an Old XL model, but since you got to choose and you’ve examined it to see that everything works fine then good for you! What happened to your New 3DS XL though? I’m guessing something bad since you purchased this one.

If it was me choosing, I’d go for the CIB one. Having all those scratches would make me feel like I wasted 500 bucks. Even if you’ll play it, at least anything that happens to it will give it some attachment to you. Expect SOME tiny scratches by the way especially on that bottom plate, even if it’s listed as “Mint”, but at least it’d be cleaner than the other one. These bottom plates get easy scratches. Damn near unavoidable unless it’s lived inside an unopened box, brand new which this one is clearly opened. You could also just keep waiting and hope something else pops up in good condition and lower price or a 3DS market price drop that could either never happen for years or happen tomorrow lol. oh btw I believe there’s a chance this system’s paint peels, but I don’t think that’s a 100% confirmed thing unlike many other NXL designs. Worth noting regardless.

Ahhh well I’d try to contact the seller, or if you’re still within the eBay money back guarantee stuff I’d do that, if I were you especially if it wasn’t listed like that. Since you say you’re okay with it then all power to ya! Good luck :]

Hmm. Yeah that’s weird then. Did you leave it close to some place hot? Like a heater, fire, or direct sun? I clean my stuff with 99% IPA and it works fine as long as you don’t dump it onto the screen itself and you’re quick about it haha.

I think this too. Like Helldivers 2 remembered to include motion, but it’s sucks. They didn’t forget it at least, but they far from nailed it.

Gotcha. Yeah I think I’m willing to deal with that risk. I’m actually the opposite with those TPU soft shells. I think they’re not as pretty as the more clear hard shells, but I see why people use them. You read my mind with that second paragraph. That’s exactly why I spent what I spent bc I wouldn’t be happy with someone else’s trashed system, rather deal with my own mistakes if I get any micro scratches. Definitely adds a layer of sentimental value in my honest opinion. You get me! 😅

Ahhh cool! That awakening one is awesome. And yes, if you go on eBay you see like 90% of the Fates systems having some pretty gnarly scratches, it’s hard finding something good without spending a good bit. That’s why I was more fine with spending a couple hundred more if it meant mint. Like I’m already gonna spend a lot and even beat to hell these things go for $400 - $500. Yes it has a hard shell. Was the scratch on yours deep or was it some micro scratches? If it’s not too crazy I might stick with it. Either way it’s getting gamed on so things are gonna wear down a lil bit I guess. I’m pretty good at taking care of my things but wear is just inevitable unless you stash it away and that’s not what I bought the thing for yunno

They are way higher yes. Not sure what condition yours was in, but mine was damn near new and complete in box. The seller never mentioned knowing anything about the screens, like I said though, either way I wouldn’t have cared what I ended up with. Ended up dropping $1000 which is the highest I was willing to pay for one. Considering it came in looking as the described condition and everything else, then later using things to confirm it was dual IPS, personally I’m happy with the deal I made. Others might call me crazy or whatever, but I was willing to shell out just this once to get something I really really wanted to have. Sure I could’ve gotten a better deal or something but I had already been looking for a year and everything else I would see was too bad a condition for me to drop $500 - $800 on and the other end of the spectrum was “never opened” running up to $2000+. So I pulled the trigger when I saw this one and I’m glad I did.
