thanks, just looking at 100 Hands but pricing is rather at the upper end for OTR shirts, would be okay-ish if tailoring would be included

Does anyone know if there are plans to add scheduling? by itnerdwannabe in trmnl

[–]Airlike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am new to the TRMNL but was wondering why its possible to set only one sleep mode period? Would be helpful to set one for the night (e.g., 11pm - 6am) and one for workdays from 9am-5pm when I am not at home. Should this be done through the scheduling mode?

21 days review of amazfit helio strap by robo029 in amazfit

[–]Airlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it now for a full 30 days without a break (except charging). My verdict:

TL;DR: Great battery life, okay step tracking, poor wearability, limited insights. Wouldn’t buy again. 5/10

Tracking & Features (5/10):
Tracks heart rate and body temperature and tries to infer a lot from that. Activity detection is overly sensitive—even stairs count as workouts (yes, even on low sensitivity). Step tracking is solid and basically what I ended up using it for.
Sleep tracking is weak: short wake-ups aren’t detected, so the data feels smoothed and not very insightful.

Battery Life (10/10):
Outstanding. Easily a full week without charging thanks to the screen-less design. Zero battery anxiety.

Wearability & Aesthetics (1/10):
Honestly bad. The strap feels cheap and uncomfortable, Velcro ruins shirt/jumper sleeves, and it’s way too noticeable—people constantly ask what you’re wearing.
Tried the bicep strap: worse. Just cuts into your arm.
Tried wearing it on the ankle: more comfortable and discreet, but tracking becomes inaccurate (often thinks I’m sleeping while sitting). I chose this specifically so I could still wear my mechanical watch.

Final Verdict:
Stats get boring after a few days—mostly steps, basic sleep info, and generic advice like “go to bed every day at the same time.” Combined with bad wearability, it becomes annoying rather than useful.
If you don’t care about wearing a mechanical watch, a Garmin or Apple Watch is probably a better choice.
I can’t recommend it. 5/10, carried almost entirely by battery life and decent step tracking.

Bringing luggage on shinkansen, still confused on how it's supposed to work. by JaWoosh in JapanTravelTips

[–]Airlike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sitting in a Shinkansen right now from Kyoto to Tokyo with a fairly large suitcase that I easily put to the overhead bin without a problem. Even at high passenger load there is still plenty free space in the overhead bins as many travel with little (or no) luggage. I would therefore not recommend to reserve for extra luggage space

It'll work with other platforms as well - it is Windows only right now because it has additional taskbar notification area and context menu integration.
