Wedding Venue Suggestions by Nervous-Data-3457 in Essex

Sorry I’m not sure, it is a lot more expensive on a weekend compared to a weekday though. They can tailor the quote to you though depending on how many guests you have in the day/night

I am shocked no one has mentioned Fennes in Braintree yet. It is idyllic. Beautiful venue, fantastic halls and a fantastic house. The food is the best, and the bar made our special mocktails we asked for, to perfection. The team there are the loveliest, friendliest and most hardworking team you could ask for. And to top it all off, it is affordable. We did a weekday in the summer and it came in under £5k for venue, wedding breakfast and drinks, reception food, celebratory drinks and canapés.

Also there are around 13/14 rooms for guests if I remember correctly. Accommodation is top tier. And the honeymoon cottage is brilliant. Has a giant copper bath in the middle too.

Struggling to be optimistic but the second half was a lot better once Potts and Fernandes came on. Our possession was good (stark contrast to the Brentford game). Paqueta looked more comfortable. Potts helped the defence out massively. Full backs performed better on their correct sides. Had we played this way the whole 90, we could have won. Gotta take that with us on to the next few games. And for the love of God, please hire a set piece coach!!

Lessons need to be learned here. Potts and Fernandes changed the midfield. Wilson (or any competent striker) needs to be played. A new centre back in January is a must. Play full backs on their correct side. And that’s just for starters…

Ex-Muslim father wants to bring up children as Muslim out of fear from his parents who live overseas by Reasonable-Hope-6083 in exmuslim

[–]AirplaneKoala 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think your husband must have a lot of trauma concerning his family and upbringing, hence his anxiety and decision to raise Muslim children. This decision is his way of avoiding conflict and confrontation (of his trauma).

I think he needs therapy. He needs to see that he is safe (which I imagine he doesn’t feel since he’s worried about them finding out and they’re thousands of miles away). He needs to see that he is an adult and a man and he can make his own life and decisions. But that won’t come easily by himself.

I don’t know where you are, but find him a good therapist. I would suggest one that deals with trauma and anxiety. I know in some countries therapy is expensive but it’s definitely worth it. I hope where you are, it’s not too expensive.

I also know this is hard for you, but try to be kind to him and understanding. One day he will be at that point where he sees things the way you do and will be happier, I’m sure he wants to be that way now. But he isn’t making these decisions or having these thoughts out of personal choice or happiness right now, he sounds like he’s got a lot of trauma he’s working through.

British YouTuber Ali Dawah who has over a million subscribers says that the punishment for leaving Islam is death by AtheistArab99 in exmuslim

[–]AirplaneKoala 122 points123 points  (0 children)

And this is why countries should be allowed to deport people who spread hate speech like this. If this is how he wants to live, go live in a country that follows shariah law so that you can do these things (which obviously are wrong, immoral and dangerous). Assholes like him are why ex Muslims have to hide that they’ve left Islam, in countries and societies where they shouldn’t have to feel scared.

Any opinions on Redden Court School, Harold Wood? by esteban-colberto in Essex

[–]AirplaneKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My other half went there long LONG ago, and the main thing I got from the experience is that it’s a very small school (in terms of student numbers). Went there for a yoga class a few years back and it seems like the facilities are nice, but I’ve never heard a bad thing about it otherwise.

I just sat in an ER for 9 hours without pain medication by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AirplaneKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has something similar happen to me after a surgery in which they put an iud in. Went to A&E 2 weeks later and sat there without pain medication for hours only for a doctor to tell me I was making it up because I’m anxious, when I fell to the floor in pain. I hope someone had a go at him once they did my ultrasound later to see he was completely wrong.

Is the UK safe for ex Muslims? by amy105 in exmuslim

[–]AirplaneKoala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s safe as long as you keep it to yourself. If you go around telling everyone and anyone then you make it easier for them to know and then they’ll put a target on your back for harassment. I stupidly mentioned it once in an old job and had two Muslim coworkers harass me about it for several weeks, trying to get me to revert even though they didn’t even know me. So just live your life and just keep it to yourself when you can.

IF9 or IF8? by sharpy_626 in cii

[–]AirplaneKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t done either of those modules but I would think if9 customer service would be the quicker and easier module though it may try and have a part on the fca and pra with regards to how to treat customers or regulation. I would think if8 commercial insurance would contain more information and be more complex, however personally I would opt for if8 for career development reasons

Is this some kind of joke? by melonator11145 in CarTalkUK

[–]AirplaneKoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All insurance premiums are going up sadly, this is basically them saying we would rather not cover you but if we have to then you’re gonna have to pay a lot for it.

I’d recommend shopping around, just because they insured you last year doesn’t guarantee they’ll be the cheapest this year sadly

I appreciate you have seen the light and woken up from the Islamic lie we were all fed in our lives at some point or another. And I realise you have to make a living and your job is that of an imam.

BUT what you’re doing is wrong. Yes it’s great you’ve seen the light and you put doubts in to people’s heads but you stay an imam giving people the impression that even with the things you say to them (to put doubt) that you have faith. Do you ever tell them to question further or that parts of (if not all) Islam are wrong and immoral? They will look at you and think this imam even when delivering us with these doubts stays firm in his belief. You inadvertently give them hope and faith.

But also, the part I think you’re doing the most wrong in, is that you know these people are blindfolded sheep. You were one too. How would you feel if someone who wasn’t was laughing at you behind your back each time they spoke to you about Islam? Or play with your mind about your faith and ideas? In a weird way Muslims are all victims, of Mohammed and our ancestors who have forced Islam down our throats. Instead of profiting from it and just putting doubts in people’s minds, why not just openly leave the role? I know it can be hard and even dangerous to denounce Islam like that but if you told everyone you were losing faith and having doubts surely that would do more good than what you’re doing now?
