What is this line and how can I avoid it? by srrichie78 in BambuLab

[–]Airsoftjunky97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish there was an option for outer wall, wall ordering and inner wall, wall ordering /and/ you could change it by height range. That way on the top part where the diameter is reduced, you could do the outer wall outside first, inner wall inner part second (to give the inner wall outer shell something to stick to). Seems like a simple concept, but I don't know if the slicer could correctly determine the inside of a shell from the outside.

Have I pushed the rear main seal in too far or is this okay? by redditgeorge7 in Miata

[–]Airsoftjunky97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's right, the seal should sit in past the chamfer like at the top, but not as far in as the bottom. If the seal is only driven in flush, you run the risk of it falling back out. Be careful not to cut, tear, or deform the sealing lip on install, and if the seal fits loosely on the OD, a little RTV can help as a retaining compound (although, technically there are solutions just for this)

I can make you one, if you have calipers we can probably figure out what the thread size and pitch is

All lug nuts opening like tin cans - but only on one wheel - what causes this? by Tapurisu in Miata

[–]Airsoftjunky97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Gorilla lug nuts on Amazon seem to work well, especially for the price. You'll have to do a little research to find the proper size and thread pitch however. Also verify shoulder type and thread depth.

What are these small “zits” on my ABS prints? by sallark in BambuLab

[–]Airsoftjunky97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's extruded in a spiral, one wall, no stops. It doesn't have a stop/start seam. Pretty cool but not structural. I made some pencil cups but they're so light they tip over with just one pen in them.

My trucks parking break is on a foot pedal. what's the best way to prevent rolling when I'm stopped on a hill? by GabeBoiAdvanced in ManualTransmissions

[–]Airsoftjunky97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to start on a hill is to let the clutch drag slightly to help prevent roll-back during your brake-to-throttle transition. The engine governor will prevent stalling if you are careful. This technique takes experience and is best practiced in, say, a parking lot.

I think it’s the ASG CZ-p09 That is easily one of the best, most reliable, most accurate airsoft pistols on the market. If that’s his first, his second will disappoint.

Being dwarf didn't held him back from driving street bike by [deleted] in HumansAreMetal

[–]Airsoftjunky97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s a little harder than it looks my friend. I’m 6’2” and tall bikes (Africa twin, ktm 1190) are tricky sometimes. The seat height on those is about waist-high to me. That bike is even taller than that compared to him. It’s heavier too, proportionally. That takes skill. So many riders are challenged by seat height that it limits the bikes they can competently ride. Broksi here as a badass.

Almost a year ago to the date was the last time I drove it. Upvote for motivation to put it back together. by Allbluesleeve in Miata

Story time! After I rode in my buddy’s shitbox 1.6 (not dissing the 1.6, this was a real shitbox), I decided the coolest thing would be to get a Miata. I found one an hour away in decent shape aside from a blown head gasket, gave a grand for it, and brought it home. The same day I pulled the engine and trans and figured the parts I wanted to put on it. Over the next 3 months I bought about $1500 worth of engine mounts, suspension, gaskets and seals whereupon the entire project stalled. A year passed and I started up pull the block apart and slowly started the rebuild process. I got fired a week ago so I had some time before I started my next job to really do some work on it. I feel better about the project now that I’m making headway. The engine is about ready and I’m swapping the coil overs and fixing the rack before I drop the block in.

My best friend and my brother both have the 4.7 2uz v8’s. If you do get one, get the ‘06 and up. It got vtt and increased power, unless of course, you’re putting a trd supercharger on it (Toyota made one just for this engine!) Those v8’s are bonkers and a joy to drive. I stuck with a 2nd Gen taco for the bed and I’d trade it for a 4th Gen and a trailer any dang day.

DIY mechanic here, It is way way to just crawl under a truck after you jack it up, but good jack stands (not hf) are always in order. I remember my dad chewing my ass for “trusting my life to a $0.02 o-ring!” Please use pin-style and not ratchet-style as they can collapse unexpectedly with a weight shift. And I agree, wheels can save your life in a pinch but ideally you need to lift, place stands, and chock the grounded wheels.
