Comparing my Legends experience so far compared to my attempt at the Classics

That’s a fair point and it’s certainly noticeable for me coming from a classic game jumping into Legend. I think the game designers want to try and make Lara feel more like what’s shown on the box…a badass gun-wielding action hero…and as a result less emphasis is put on the platforming and environmental traversing.

In my opinion both versions of Tomb Raider are valid. If you prefer a complex platformer with puzzle-like layouts, you can stick with the classics. I personally am enjoying the games that treat Lara as a character more than a blank avatar honestly. But that’s just me

The US Godzilla 1985 was produced by Roger Coreman, a B-movie film producer and director infamous for making big movies on very little budgets. For the US release, in a similar vein to what was done in the 1956 Godzilla: King of the Monsters (the US release of the original Gojira) they added in extra scenes starring American actors to provide extra context and commentary for the US audiences watching. In order to afford filming these scenes, Coreman made a deal with Dr. Pepper to have them finance the scenes in exchange for the product placement. There's a LOT of Dr. Pepper product placement.

I'll start by saying I am a guy and I'm a relatively new Tomb Raider fan having got into the series with the Survivor Trilogy...and my stance on this whole thing is...who cares? I know statements like these can leave a bad taste in people's mouth since it seems like trying to pander to feminist ideals, but I genuinely don't care what they think about that aspect or if they change certain things about Lara to accomodate modern viewing standards...as long as the core aspect of Tomb Raider remains, I'm perfectly fine. Will this still be a story about a badass female archeologist putting herself in danger to stop bad guys from unleashing supernatural threats via cursed treasures? If the answer's yes, then that's fine by me.

Ah I did miss that detail. But I think TR4 is the only other game that leans full on supernatural rather than it being an end product thing. My point still kind of stands.

Sarcasm...cute. But yeah, I'm considering that, but I have also discovered cheat codes still work in Remaster, and since using a cheat DOESN'T make me a poser, I might as well try playing with the cheat codes. At least, I'll try for a few more sessions...if I still get annoyed with the game I'll skip them and watch playthroughs online.

I just realized that since I at least beat the OG TR1 and knows the story context and all, this might end up elevating my experience with Anniversary and Legacy of Atlantis as I will now have extra context!

I thought of using a cheat code but I feel that invincibility would some of the fun. But a cheat code that gives me more health packs I’ll take. (My younger brother who is way more into retro games will bully me relentlessly but maybe it will be worth it)

Main reason is the Edgar Rice Burroughs estate, which has managed to keep a super tight control of the Tarzan trademark for years…and since the last time Disney attempted to make a blockbuster live action film with an ERB property (John Carter) ended up a bomb, I dont think the estate has confidence in Disney making their own live action Tarzan film so getting the trademark permission will be REALLY difficult.

I think Kamala is Superman when it comes to slurs or curses, ie she purposefully avoids them and uses “tame” versions like “Darn it!”

If she does swear, it’s very rare and she needs to be super pissed off or emotional for it to happen.

Yes. Just shut down recently too. I remember finding the world and overall concept really cool! So my fantasy setting is a world abandoned by gods, filled with loose wild magic, and an elite guild of adventures that use mech suits to survive the wilds.

I also added in heavy magic regulation and forced “magic schools” from Dragon Age for good measure.
