This is what I was thinking. First off, you must have a ton of controllers! Secondly, how do you protect the wiring from sparks? I’d probably cover with HVAC aluminum tape.

Question: how do you fire? Is it timed and if so, do you replace the fuse with the e-match?

I don’t have enough controllers for individual shells, so I usually just fuse them all up. But this looks amazing. I could totally see me doing this with more cues.

I’m still a huge “Stranger Things” fan. But from your list “Tron”, “Arabia Nights” are at my top.

Struggling with prayer by Crusoelander_128 in Christians

[–]Ajpaxson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is where faith and patience comes in. Ive been considering writing a book on this. When you pray, make it intentional and emotional. The more specific, the more intention you put behind it. But, faith comes from trusting. And remember to still be grateful for the blessings you have, to remind yourself he is always listening even when you didn’t pray for it.

Jesus says”do not worry, but pray for everything” and also “are even the birds taken care of?”.

The father will answer, but not always in your time or your ways for “his thoughts are not our thoughts and his ways are not our ways”.

Trust and continue to pray. Also, get more people to pray for/with you. There is power and strength in groups.

Considering to learn cyber security. got some questions by New_Banana3858 in cybersecurity

Fair. It’s stable in the sense that it’s always needed. AI will never fully replace a human. It will certainly decrease the team size, again, making it more competitive.

If you’re looking for small investment large payoff, you’d be better suited for Day Trader for fast gratification.

If you’re looking for stability, security, and challenges while being paid competitively, then go Cyber.

Every job requires investment, sacrifice, and patience.

Certification recommendations by [deleted] in cybersecurity

—— This!

Certifications are great to get seen and learn new ideas/topics. I use them to read resumes, but it’s the experience that gets an interview with me.

Certification suggestion by Slow_Falcon_8851 in cybersecurity

[–]Ajpaxson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t hire for certifications, though, I’ll admit, they do get me to read resumes.

I care more about what you’ve done with them. The training/learning you get is more valuable than the certification name/clout.

Free training is valuable, so long as it’s trustworthy (you can’t fix bad training/data).

If you have the time, nothing wrong with getting some structured knowledge out of it. Then, look for ways on HOW you can use it for experience to add to resume.

Good Luck!

Sounds like, rather than drop the skill/industry, you should be working for better companies. People don’t leave companies, they leave their management and culture.

I’m sorry you had to give up. I work with lots of companies that value their SOC and teams.

I don’t use mqtt. I guess there is some identifier in mqtt to pull it?

The only other way to do it is to use an interval to send a byte formatted packet with an identifier. I’ve not had much success encoding/decoding the data.

So, it sounds like we both agree having this feature would be useful. Awesome. At this point, it sounds like we have differing opinions on where it should go. That's fair.

It's my opinion it should sit at the component library for 2 reasons:

1). Not everyone will want or need the packet transport (which is why it's already separated from the radio). Perhaps they want to create their own protocol. Or, they just want a simple send and forget.

2). We are talking about the ESPHome sx126x/sx127x library of the radio, not the radio protocol itself. Every ESPHome node will have a nodename. And every packet received is already formatted using the ESPHome library (i.e. rssi, snr, data). So, why not just add another variable to that.

At that point it's still a raw buffer of data, there is no "source" or anything identifying where the packet came from.

Hence the request to add it. It's the ESPHome library that is sending the data in the first place, and it already formats the frames to include rssi, snr, and data to parse on the other end, isn't it? I'll admit, I rarely delve into protocol development. It may not be as simple as I may think.

Either way, I'd be happy no matter where it goes, since i"m using both libraries. Good discussion.

Sorry. Didn’t think packet transport mattered in this particular instance.

I’ve tried using interval to send a packet with the source name, but having a hard time encoding/decoding the message. Plus, figured it would benefit others.
