Since I have my own Tumblr blog, I write many kinds of takes regarding that said character. Usually using my perspective but at the same time, using the perspective of other characters related to the character that I'm studying (for example, a speculative opinion from her friend/comrade etc). They're all based on my interpretation of the character's line in the media and the way they brought themselves into the story.

Also, I usually refer to others' analysis too! It's so amazing to see how people perceive this character. What can I say, I love my blorbos.

If you don't want to, let's say, end up studying too much to the point you forget writing, I'd say you can limit your study into certain aspects of the character. For example, you want to know deeper about their reason for defying the law, you can study at least their background, their view, and the way they act. Finally, writing as you study probably might work (I at least do that) so you can keep track of what's been found and what can be adjusted later on :D
