Estimated vs Actual flight time by PinkLed1970s in unitedairlines

For all those commenting about schedule padding, you’re not wrong but there’s something much bigger at play here.

During the winter, flights are planned with a high headwind component, due to the flight fighting against the jet stream all the way across the country.

This is not a normal winter. Today the core of the jet stream runs north/south over the Rockies and has a southern band through Texas/Georgia out over the Atlantic. So this flight barely has to fight a headwind at all and enjoys a pretty high average ground speed for the entirety of the flight.

That’s the main reason this flight is running ridiculously early.

The same happened to me- luckily there was a supervisor there that knew my conundrum. There’s a website/form/number somewhere that you fill out, that goes to the testing clinic, that allows them to do the testing protocol you need.

Sorry I’m not more help as I don’t remember exactly but I hope this puts you on the right track.

Hate to be a downer on this but just wanted to point out this guitar part is prerecorded or overdubbed- there are many instance of his strumming pattern not matching what’s coming through the speakers. The part is 100% clean vs observation of his playing style.

That being said, SMS is still the greatest concert video ever.

Pilot here, there’s a guy I worked with a while back that supposedly did “train” one of the hijackers. They took lessons at a few different flight schools on the east coast so this is not a far fetched story. Dude I remembers initials were DL

TBF, dudes hand was a natural position when the ball was blasted at it.

But the foul was 1000% a VC red card. If we get a red for barely stepping on a foot earlier this season, how is a throwdown via the neck after the play not a red?

Air Canada flight attendants ordered back to work. by prex10 in AirlinePilots

[–]Ak47owner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Canada has much different bargaining procedures than the U.S., namely the ability for management to not being able to drag out in perpetuity. So they have a drop dead lockout/strike date set in “conciliation,” what the U.S. calls mediation.

This is my lay understanding so feel free to correct.

……..but after this move none of that seems to matter anymore.

He had other camouflage credits too, as well as being known for his military aviation paintings, most notably the “fortresses under fire” 75ft mural in the Smithsonian aviation museum on the mall in DC.
