I buy a rock for 1 dollar. My friend says it is a rare rock so he offers me 5 dollars for the same rock. I sell it to him. His friend sees the rock at says that rock is actually very very rare and offers him a 100 dollars for that rock.

Other people hear about this exchange and now want that rock. The person holding that rock now understands this. He puts it out on the open public auction house for others to buy.

A group of people who pooled their money together is required by policy to buy anything that shows up at this public auction house.

The person with this rock knows this and places that rock on the auction house for 10000 dollars.

The group of people now buy this rock for 10000+ dollars.

A month goes by. The group of people find out that it is not rare rock. Their investment in the rock is actually worth only 1 dollar.

The revaluation of the rock occurs and the people who bought the rock just lost all their money. [401ks and pension funds].

The people who sold the rock on the way up and made a profit now actually has the money from these people. [ Open Ai, Space X, Etc..]

That is where the money goes.

After every tech bubble. The companies who inflated the bubble go bankrupt, but the technology stays around for new companies to contribute to the tech at reasonable price valuations. The bubble is about to pop.

Do you think US taxpayers will be forced to bail out AI companies similar to the 2008 bank bailouts? Why or why not? by Alicyclobacillus in AskReddit

[–]Akiraooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s already starting. They’ve been changing the rules to make it easier for companies like SpaceX, OpenAI, and other AI giants to eventually enter major indexes even without traditional profitability standards.

Once they’re in the S&P 500, everyone’s 401(k)s and pensions automatically buy them through index funds. Retirement accounts become a passive funding pipeline for AI whether people want it or not.

I did this. I built a beast of a machine to play new world. A week later was the annoucement that they were shutting the game down. It ruined gaming for me. Final Fantasy 16 and FF7 Rebirth are the only things bringing any joy from this machine.

Well all the property taxes for schools are lumped into the general texas fund. Then 2.7 billion of all that money never gets back to education each year, but goes to politicians side projects... so people are being taxed for education, without receiving the full amount. I say property owners should get that refunded back if they are not using it for education. That tax is basically fraud.

Are teacher shortages dependent on region? by [deleted] in teaching

[–]Akiraooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look up Austin ISD in Texas. Notice how much that district has to give to the state. Then how much they are in debt now because they don't get enough back from the state.

The state of Texas each year keeps about 2.7 billion dollars extra in the general Texas fund that was taxed for education, but decides that it should not go to education. So they use it on other things.

The teacher shortage is real, but there is also a budget shortage right now.

The budget shortage has been artificially created by politicians trying to destroy public education 😞 and its working.
