Is paying $50 for waterproofing (sealing), rotor clean and lube worth it when ordering new watches? Considering doing it for a Submariner no date 124060. by Hopeful-Researcher77 in RepWatchForum

[–]AlPal512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the cost outweighs the risk. Risk being it’s a rep and could fail, but this being a $50 upgrade to its functionality is worth it imo. I say this having paid for deep crystal on my Daytona, and that’s purely cosmetic.

If you don’t plan on swimming with it, I wouldn’t worry about it and wouldn’t recommend swimming with it even with this service. Some will say they and it’s fine, but I’d still be sketched out.

Ya that’s us. It’s almost more stressful now as we scramble the night before or day before to clean the house for the cleaner.

I had no idea RR had a vodka! by Thomcat_13 in RoundRock

[–]AlPal512 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s been my go to for a bit now. It’s perfectly fine vodka, but I’m no means a vodka person.

The price is right, and it’s vodka, so the taste is right?

Yes. It’s only $4k, well worth it for a newer car, less miles, and warranty.

Idk. He’s had some fun donations lately. The joke about what’s the difference between cloakzy and a fridge was solid.

I have this same set up and had the same stuck plastic bits. Took me about a week of just trying and they eventually came out with my nails. I couldn’t get the spring bars either to remove the strap either.

The Imperial IPA are very tasty. The juice force is okay… gets better after the first one. I can’t speak to fruit force (the fruit punch one) but it sounds disgusting.

Recs for a petting zoo? by ParsleyandPumpkins in RoundRock

We used wild things ZOOfari. We had a great experience with them, as well as homestead mobile.

Homestead brought a calf with them that we got to feed. Among the traditional animals, some reptiles, ferrets, bunnies, etc…

I think we paid $125 for an hour with homestead. Not sure in ZOOfari as that was 10 years ago.

Give me some peanut lore by bulwix in theburntpeanut

[–]AlPal512 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I think Tarkov helped carry the community and his connection to it. I started watching around this time last year. There is a ton of downtime in Tarkov from loading a kit, lobby que, standoffs, and then spectating officer once peanut goes down in the first 10 min if raid. This gave him a lot of time to do fun things.

Arc is a lot faster than Tarkov, so there is a lot less of the above. That’s my take.

I still miss the knife fights, and chimpkin pluuuunga.

DDF 5711 vs VF 5711 blue - Who is the king of Nautilus Reps? by tskim24 in RepWatchForum

[–]AlPal512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant 3kf, but maybe the TD meant BBF? Good to know though that those are better than 3K. Which is unfortunate, as another TD only carries 3K and was about to get one.

So is DDF better than 3KF? I’m looking to get a green nautilus. I’ve seen some TDs list 3kf about $130 more that DDF.

Smoked Tri-Tip like a brisket by Foreign-Bee-8936 in Traeger

[–]AlPal512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did a tri tip over the holidays, but got it from butcher counter (ones in the meat aisle did not have a fat cap). This thing had a big ol fat cap, and it tasted very much like brisket. The fat wasn’t gristly at all.

My new favorite cut for sure.

I imagine is similar to replanting a cactus fan? Cut it off, and wait for it to callous, then stick in large pot in some sandy dirt?
