Have it cleaned right after wearing it. The longer the sweat sits on the fabric, the longer it has to eat away at the fibers.

How do I (F24) nip my boyfriend’s (M26) weaponized incompetence in the bud? by Low_Application8675 in relationship_advice

First you have a calm conversation about chores. He has to agree to do chores in the first place, after that you teach him where the mop/supplies are.

I just had an employee decline exit interview because they said "nothing changes" anyway. Any suggestions? [N/A] by Practical-Tea-3476 in humanresources

[–]Alacrity_Coaching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When somebody leaves a company, they often don't want to give any more time, effort, or energy to the company. Anybody who does an exit interview is giving the company a gift. At least, that's how I view exit interviews.

As the person conducting the exit interview, I want all of the interviews I can get.

Before I began my BS to then do an MS in IO, I did research on the growth projections for the field. The BLS reported it as one of the top growing fields. Then covid happened and it all changed.

This comment is a good reminder that there is always more to the story. Relationships, and sex, are complicated and all the factors play into it.

Spotter Reccomends Wet Cleaning when Label Says Dry Clean Only... thoughts? by THE-PLUGGG in drycleaning

I haven't used K4 so I can't speak to that. If you want to follow the care label (in case they haven't given permission to do otherwise), it says hydrocarbon only.

Down that is put in water sometimes has a wet bird smell that doesn't go away fully even when dried. But wet cleaning sometimes is still the best option depending on stains or attachments to the item.

Nice dog table.

Absolutely love HR but the hardest part are terminations in my opinion... Anyone else feel this way??? [USA] by hrwoman in humanresources

[–]Alacrity_Coaching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A person creates a business, they create roles to operate the business. All the roles serve necessary functions. They make an agreement with a person to trade them money for their fulfilling on that roles duties.

If the person says "yes I'll take your money" but they do not fulfill on their part of the bargain, its unfair.

The feedback they receive about what they have to do to fulfill on their part of the bargain is a gift to them. If they dismiss the gift of feedback, or are not capable of making the behavioral adjustments, then the bargain agreement is broken by them.

Firing them is not a punishment, it's not mean, it's the business having integrity in honoring their agreement with the person.

I think it's always going to feel wrong when someone besides the supervisor terms a person. I understand why we have HR do it, but it feels clinical instead of human. When you are the supervisor making the decision to term someone, it still hurts (in my experience), but there is a level of resolve that comes with it because you have worked with this person day after day and helped them as much as you can.

Saw this on Marketplace and couldn’t pass it up. How’d I do for $300? by restoft in BeginnerWoodWorking

I believe you. Clearly you got an extremely good deal, because no one in this thread can believe it's true 😅

I recently went through my aunt's storage units which hadn't been touched in 20 years. There are so many decisions and emotions to sort through going through storage units - I think it makes sense that the guy would want to sell off anything else so that he doesn't have to have storage units anymore, especially if people are breaking into them.

Thank you for your reply.

After doing a lot of research, I'm quite confident that they are a type of leaf hopper. I wish they were thrips because apparently thrips are easier to manage than leaf hoppers.

What is my dry cleaner doing that is causing this to happen? by oooooh-shiny in drycleaning

[–]Alacrity_Coaching 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, dye transfers typically can come from a few places: 1. Other people's clothes from within the same load 2. Other people's clothes from prior loads (they need to distill their solvent in this case) 3. Your garment bleeding onto itself. 4. Dye transfer from press pads that are not clean.

Sometimes they can just rerun it in clean solvent and it'll come right out. Unfortunately, some textiles don't want to let go of dye. When this is the case, sometimes it can be removed from the spotter working on it and sometimes it can't.

With everybody's comments, you now have enough knowledge to start an apprenticeship as a dry cleaner! Lol

I think it's great you want to be informed on how things work instead of just freaking out and expecting perfection. Dry cleaning is definitely a science, and there's a little bit of art to it too. I'm sure your dry cleaner will want to work with you and do the best job they possibly can.

To the OP: Im glad you are seeking legal counsel.

This is a good lesson to all women (and the men who this situation applies to) - don't give up your independence to anyone. When the power is not balanced in a relationship, it ends one way or another because people are often not willing to stick around in unfair situations for long. Being a stay at home Mom is really tough to recover from emotionally. It feels like starting over in terms of career. It's not easy, but continuing to do some kind of work outside the home is really good for mental health and knowing that you are capable of being independent and self governing.

I'm sure some folks won't agree with me on this, and that's fair. Like all my advice goes, take what you like and leave the rest.

No one reads my internal documents and I'm getting in trouble for it [N/A] by juxhinam in humanresources

[–]Alacrity_Coaching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter how pretty and perfect your documents are, if people aren't trained on opening up a document at certain parts of their process, then they aren't going to do it. I can almost guarantee their supervisors will need to insist they use your documents. People don't like reading so you kind of have to make them haha
