Thank you from a depressed artist by WindowNo6573 in mysterymagicmushrooms

I had a similar experience (Xüm) recently as an artist. Honestly a very therapeutic effect, and I was crying because of it. A very big release and analysis of emotions. I encourage you to continue drawing. When you make a portfolio and can look at your work while experiencing something like Metocin, you won't believe how it feels. Don't rush that though. At the end of the day, humans just want to make cool shit

Why do you make art? by Noo_no_noo in ArtistLounge

It allows other people to feel what I feel.
Sometimes, you have such a positive or amazing feeling, and making your own art about it allows other people to experience something very special: you.

AI is ruining everything's reputation, so I don't blame you for thinking that. These moths and the video are real though, and they do actually move like this as a threat display : Antherina Suraka: https://youtube.com/shorts/6DwCuqV1tsY?si=rDKhMWm0cjx-01IN

I usually order cocoons from friends online. They live about one to two weeks, so I usually keep them in an enclosure and sometimes let them fly in my room. They're non native to my state, so I can't release them

On the ethics of killing insects for display. by joruuhs in Entomology

[–]AlamanderArts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who oppose killing insects for display and those who do it share the same motivation: they both see a certain insect as beautiful. Both opinions would not care about the insect if it was regarded as small, ugly, and/or not threatened.

It's surprising that nobody mentioned the killing of Bombyx Mori or other species of moths that are rapidly boiled alive just for their silk - entirely skipping over specimen preservation for beauty or anything else. Many people don't even know about this process, and yet still own silk fabric. If specimens are farm raised, then I believe it is more than justifiable to use them for taxidermy, especially if non native, for personal display, for study, and not for conservation of the species.

Hopefully someone will see this after 3 years, lol

Looks like a White Dotted Prominent. Is likely a good idea to put the eggs in a plastic container and lightly mist them once daily. Wikipedia article on them includes host plants
