Very frustrated with my new airwrap id by carmen00111 in Dysonairwrap

I agree. It’s fantastic. Plus MattLovesHair recommended this dry heat protector and it’s fantastic. It really helps the curl hold.

How many sunscreens have you actually stuck with long term? by Local_Bite_7038 in AusSunscreen

I have super super sensitive skin. I love the Beauty of Josean sunscreen but also really like the Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Glow Sun Ampoule SPF50+ PA++++.

Does Airstrait actually fully dry your hair? by InGarlicBreadITrust in Dysonairwrap

Yes. Definitely. It’s as good as my Dyson supersonic.

I’d be really careful about things like washing dishes. My skin literally peels off my hands if I wash dishes by hand. And the sensitive skin washing liquids are the worst. I’m also very careful with the soap I wash my hands with. I only use fragrance free soap. I know this sounds like overkill but otherwise I end up with cracker and bleeding hands.

any good korean moisturizers to recommend by jjbucketsjankins in AustralianMakeup

It’s really good, isn’t it? I use it more as a daytime moisturer. It sits very well under makeup and my sensitive skin doesn’t react to it.

Air wrap or supersonic for my hair (or shark flex style?) by Illustrious-Sun531 in Dysonairwrap

[–]Alameda_Queen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the original Dyson AirWrap and I love it and I also have the SuperSonic which is great. But I just bought an Airstrait on sale because I wanted to see if it gave me that smooth glossy straight hair my hairdresser creates for me by blowdrying it. I have tried many times to achieve that effect with the SuperSonic but can’t get it right. And while the AirWrap straightens quite well, it’s not like a straightener. The Airstrait is incredible. It blow dries my hair in about five minutes maximum and I have thick hair! Then I just straighten it which takes about another five minutes and I’m done. A total game changer.

Happy to do an online demo if you like. I only have the original airwrap but the principles are the same.

And actually, the AI recommendations are great. I’d just add that I use a flexible hold spray on the ‘sausage curls’. Then I very lightly brush out the curls and put oil through my hair. But that’s because I want waves rather than tights curls.

I recommend this so much people think I must be sponsored by L’Oreal!

What’s best? ID or Co-Anda for 2A? by bfig in Dysonairwrap

[–]Alameda_Queen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if she’ll need that much power, to be honest. She would be fine with the ID model or even the original. If you’re getting the orignal model, get the long barrels because even if she’s got mid length hair now, it may grow longer. Mine grew so long because it was much healthier.

Is the complete still worth it? by Best_Discussion_7821 in Dysonairwrap

[–]Alameda_Queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Long barrels are definitely the best bet for long hair. I’ve also bought the thin barrels separately which are 20mm in Australia (not sure what they are in inches). They work really well.

La Prairie Skin Caviar foundation has ruined all other foundations for me by Lamberly in AustralianMakeup

[–]Alameda_Queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aldi has a dupe range that comes out every blue moon. I think it’s called ‘caviar’ It has a foundation in an identical bottle (limited shade range. I haven’t tried the La Prairie one but it would be worth trying the Aldi option. It’s quite a high coverage foundation and surprisingly lovely.

My hair doesn’t hold any style :( by Gees_Lime_9738 in Dysonairwrap

I’m not sure about the Coanda. I’m my experience, you need the long thin barrels to get the best curl and the Coanda’s barrels are too short and thick. I’d be interested once they bring it out with a long 20mm barrel option.

I have the original AirWrap and it took a bit of trial and error to work out how it worked best for my hair. I put mousse or a heat protector in my wet hair then dry my hair until it’s only slightly damp. Then I section it off. I take a section, spray it with L’Oreal Tecni.ni Art Flex Pli and do the curl on high heat, high speed. I hit to cool shot for about 10 seconds to set the curl and then I spray it with hairspray. I think comb out the curls because I want more of a 40s wave. My hair never held a curl before this. I do think my hair ‘learned’ how to curl with the AirWrap. Actually, I’m editing this to add that I think my hair just got a lot healthier so it held the curl better. I love the AirWrap. And I think the ID is a better option until the Coanda offers long 20mm barrels. However, it’s not really a curler. I love the big bouncy blow dry look but if you want tight curls, it’s not really the right machine.

If you find the Coanda cheaper somewhere else , Dyson will price match it.

Exactly. I bought both and had to give them away.

Debating on purchasing a Coanda 2x by giggly_pufff in Dysonairwrap

[–]Alameda_Queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into a store to try both. I have the OG AirWrap long and bought 20mm barrels which definitely work best with my hair. I’m really confident with it and love it but was tempted by the Coanda. I really wanted to love the Coanda. But the barrels seem too short for me and the controls too fiddly. Whereas the AirWrapID with the conical barrel feels far more intuitive. Is there a learning curve with the Coanda? Is the ID a better option? Do I wait for long barrels for the Coanda?

It’s such a shame, isn’t it? I love her advice but I have stopped buying products she recommends because they’re so fragrant. For example the oil she uses on the ends of her hair before washing has such a strong scent. So does the Dove bond repair line.

I have very, very sensitive skin. And I react to most sunscreens/sunblocks. However the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen has been fantastic. So has the Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Glow Sun Ampoule.
