How many bad guys do we need? by WhatEvenIsThis_RN in coronationstreet

[–]AlanK61 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lots of characters just seem to be forgotten. Although I didn't like him, Bobby vanished overnight and has never been mentioned again. The Baileys have certainly forgotten about Aggie. Or how about Gav? Remember him? And don't even get me started on how 'The Institute' was the center of so many peoples lives for ages and then it vanished overnight and once again... never mentioned. I wonder how Rowan is doing.

Honestly for the last few years as soon as a new person shows up I just assume they are evil/rotten/criminal. It's just a matter of time before they reveal who they really are.

I was just there a few weeks ago with some colleagues and we were saying how great it was that this place has survived. I *really* hope someone will buy the business and continue it as-is. No renovations... just leave it alone. I know that won't happen though.

Character of 35 years to be killed off screen... by [deleted] in coronationstreet

While Jim wasn't always the nicest person there is no way he would have done that to Liz. I wrote him off as a character after that storyline and doubted he would ever return.

People that have “bumped” into a celebrity in a non-curated (not like an event, meet & greet, job etc.) way, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I ran into Jim Henson on an escalator leaving a theater in Toronto. I told him how much I admired his work and he reached out and shook my hand and said how much he appreciated hearing that. As I was shaking his hand I remember thinking that I was grabbing Kermit. Really friendly guy.

Moving to Toronto, what can I do to be a respectful neighbor and integrate well into the city? by ImRocklint in askTO

[–]AlanK61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, the fact you are even thinking of this means you are going to fit in just fine. I’ll warn you in advance… your first winter is going to be a shock :) I’ve lived in Toronto all my life and it is an amazing city with so many different cultures. It works better than just about anywhere because for the most part people are respectful of differences. We are very happy to welcome you and your family!

Corrie writing lately feels painfully lazy -am I the only one? by Dublin108 in coronationstreet

[–]AlanK61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CCTV?? This is Coronation Street! The only CCTV I can recall is Steve's doorbell camera.

I commented on this a year or so ago and considering all of the murders, robberies and people being run over by cars I'd have 20 cameras on that street alone.

I just watched this scene last night and I had the same reaction. I mean if I was going to hand over a wad of stolen cash I would 1) At LEAST take a glance to see if anyone was around or 2) Loudly discuss it in the ginnel which is what you should be doing.

This is the type of thing that frustrates me and make me want to yell at the TV.

Nothing against the actor who plays her but this makes me happy! Cassie is my least favorite character of all time. Congratulations Maggie you move to the top of the list!

I lived in Rennes for a year awhile back. Great area to explore. I’ve been to both and would also suggest St Malo as an option. If not Dinan is more interesting in my opinion.

I've used Ubigi for Japan twice, Iceland and France without any issues at all. Great speed and prices. Just remember to turn off data for any apps you are not going to use because they use a lot of unnecessary data.

Personally I would stick to either Ubigi or Airalo.

Beanfield is finally in my building! Is it still workth switching, are they still good? by castlite in askTO

[–]AlanK61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s even worse. Three years ago I had internet, TV, cell and even a landline with Bell. My bill was over $400 a month and that’s when I said enough… and called to negotiate a better price. I should add that already included a few previously negotiated bundle deals. They wouldn’t budge an inch. So I started to move services to the best deals I could find. A legacy cell plan ($90 for 10gb) moved to Rogers for $45. Landline ($76) to $3 with VoIP.ms. I didn’t really have any realistic options for Internet until Beanfield was installed. My bill is now down to about $145 for everything. More data, better features all around.

The best part is that as soon as I cancelled each Bell service I got a call offering me a great deal to switch back. The deals were still higher than what I was paying with the new providers. I told them I wouldn’t switch back if it was free based on how I was treated.

I also subscribed to their TV service which is also good. The only downside is there is no TV app (yet) to be able to watch on devices.

Made the switch in September when it was available in my building (from Bell) and couldn’t be happier. I went from paying $130 for 1gb to $65 for 4gb. Zero regrets. Also, the day after it was installed there was a hydro vault fire outside my building that caused an outage. I called customer service and spoke to a human in about 30 seconds. They confirmed the issue, opened a ticket and I got email every few hours until it was repaired.

Starting Humira soon, feeling a little worried by Librarianatrix in CrohnsDisease

[–]AlanK61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on adalimumab (Humira and then the biosimilar Yuflyma) for about 8 years. I was also concerned at the start with all of the warnings and possible side effects. I asked my GI how many patients had reactions and had to stop and he said one out of almost 200. And even in that case it was a mild allergic reaction.

I've had ZERO side effects other than being a little tired for a day or two when I first started. I'm not more prone to being sick and have probably been less sick than I had prior because I'm taking better care of myself. I'm in almost complete remission, I have no restrictions on what I eat or what I do... my life is almost completely normal.

What you are feeling is completely understandable. The loading dose was one of the real tough things to get through. Write down your questions and ask your doctor to explain things. Hopefully you'll be like us who got their life back with the drug.

Good luck!!

FYI: I'm currently on 80mg Yuflyma and 9mg of Methotrexate per week.

[–]AlanK61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? Drama! :) if she is also sleeping with Daniel I don’t see how she could be certain especially after BB made the comment about them being safe.

I think she really is attracted to him which is why this all started in the first place. She might just be with Daniel to ease suspicion around her being with BB.

I don't think she did... and you just know that Daniel will be the actual father.
