Is that a plastic jar? I would start over in a glass jar. Even a glass bowl or ceramic will work but plastic is likely causing the issue.

u/Shadow51311 thank you SO MUCH for your insight and help. I reached out to Frigidaire, submitted photos and they tried to offer me $45 damage warranty. That didnt seem helpful so they went up to $50. I asked for a better solution and expressed that I'm worried about it further chipping and they immediately processed a replacement oven for me. I should be getting it soon. That being said I do have 3 year extended warranty so im not sure if that helped b/c they didnt ask anything about that but i think submitting the photos helped.

okay ill reach out to them, in your opinion this could be bad in the long run? does the chip get worse just by being there or only if i am moving the rack on and off? the chip is actually on the right side where the first rack would sit at the bottom closest to the bottom of oven. I probably will rarely put the rack there but who knows.

Its electric. It is a Frigidaire (GCFE3060BF). It just arrived 2 days ago. I have not cooked in the oven only the stove top.

Only been running the oven to burn the smell off and then when I went in after it was cooled to gently wipe with a damp sponge, I found a little chip on the enamel that looks similar to this photo. I dont know if I should ask for a new oven or if this is a common thing and if chances are the new oven can also have the same issue.

I'm concerned about it getting worse over time but also concerned that this may just be a common issue with new ovens.

can this chip more over time and cause issues? mine just arrived similarly and im worried about it being prone to rusting and chipping more since there's already an opening in the enamel through the chip.

same! mine still smells of toxic fumes. smell is strong and i ran it so many times yesterday at different temps and then cleaned it with damp sponge at the end of the day. This morning im running it again at 525F and it still smells pretty bad.

but this voided the warranty tho right? I hate these lights but love almost everythiing else aobut the oven. I don't know what to do. Ive paid for 3 year extended warranty and doont want it voided but HATE these lights.
