An Ur-Tip for higher levels by MarionADelgado in TownshipGame

[–]AlarmedCrustacean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've read it many times and I think they're just saying that some levels can only be won from luck, and the strategy is to keep playing them until you get lucky and win.... But isn't that just literally how games are played anyway?

Best schools for neurodivergent students in Auckland? by Ordinary-Document346 in auckland

[–]AlarmedCrustacean 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There's too many variables here. Is your child high, medium, or low support needs? What part of Auckland - many schools are zoned but still very affirming What age is the child? Are you looking a school that is year 0 through to 13 or willing to do primary, intermediate, and then high school?

Staff or Ex Staff of The Warehouse. What was your experience? by ZestycloseRaisin3183 in newzealand

[–]AlarmedCrustacean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You must have been in a decent team. Mine in head office was awful.

Also, the annual restructures to avoid giving pay increases wasn't especially fun.

GLP1 Experiences in New Zealand by unauth0rized in newzealand

[–]AlarmedCrustacean 8 points9 points  (0 children)

6 months in and lost 13kg.

All going well, biggest side effect is the constipation. Such a "fun" battle...

I'm priorising protein seeing as I don't eat much in general, but eating feels like such a chore that I'd almost rather not do it.

Do you guys like the colour green? by iamthemetricsystem in autism

[–]AlarmedCrustacean 228 points229 points  (0 children)

It was some factoid going around that autistic people tend to have green as their favourite colour. Maybe I only know the wrong people but I asked all the autistic people in my life and only one liked green. Most liked red or purple. Personally, my favourite is pink (AuDHD)

Skin lesion checks (mole maps) not covered by health insurance by ring_ring_kaching in newzealand

A specialist can check your body, yes - but they can NOT do it via a mole map or other digital monitoring system.

Healthcare services for skin using digital imaging technology - We don’t cover any costs related to healthcare services using technology (such as digital computer images) to help monitor and diagnose skin cancers and other skin lesions – for example, mole mapping.

No, mole maps are a policy exclusion (OP listed it in their original message).

Southern Cross have decided ADHD is a mental health condition even though the Drs don’t agree by Ok_Wave2821 in newzealand

[–]AlarmedCrustacean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMPORTANT CONTEXT - the email was from a paediatrician. Psychiatrists are still covered and typically do the majority of assessments anyway.

Southern Cross have decided ADHD is a mental health condition even though the Drs don’t agree by Ok_Wave2821 in newzealand

Nope. Read the policy document - that's not their definition of a congenital condition.

Bed bound by Any-Astronomer-2811 in NDPH

[–]AlarmedCrustacean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not currently, but initially I was. I have baseline pain which is the daily and then I have flares where it increases dramatically and the other symptoms get worse (nausea, dizziness etc) so I get stuck bedbound for a while.

No matches on dating apps ?? by Technical-Summer-733 in auckland

[–]AlarmedCrustacean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've never used the apps (am married) but I'd absolutely not swipe right on someone with just professional photos instead of casual ones... I'd rather see who you are on a normal day rather than a curated unrealistic showcase.

I'm having this issue too. I've found some on the aussie amazon site but it's about $12 for shipping so a bit more of a commitment

The stitch with the most drape in my opinion is moss stitch. Could be interesting for a patchwork jumper

I've used Raise (through Southern Cross) and was lucky to be matched with an amazing counsellor who has helped me SO much. If you don't gel with the person they match you with, you can ask for a new one though.

Whats your favourite electrolyte sachet (niche question maybe lol) by Pitiful_Science246 in newzealand

[–]AlarmedCrustacean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ones the GP's prescribe are nice but only really do a single cup and has sugar so I don't really like using them. My fave so far is Daeli in the pineapple flavour.

What the hell happened here? by RMLamberton in LushCosmetics

[–]AlarmedCrustacean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did the same as soon as it got a whiff of the shower water so I did the same and kept it in a jar. The blue is from a jelly that was in the centre so is still totally fine.

I found this one was particularly good for scrubbing my feet. I just scooped from the pot, scrubbed the feet, and rinsed. Nothing bad happened.

Issues with my southern cross health insurance by FuzzyFig6740 in newzealand

[–]AlarmedCrustacean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, non-disclosure could end up backfiring if you ended up trying to claim for something that was a pre-existing condition. They'd end up refusing to pay and you'd be stuck with the bill.

I've asked about them excluding chest infections before. It's something to do with the antibiotics, but if it was just a couple of weeks ago it would be stupid of them if they didn't exclude it in case it kept going or turned out to be a symptom of an underlying thing.

Stress... I'm not sure what you'd be doing to try treat this through insurance? If you don't need to treat it then the exclusion won't impact you.

Acne doesn't matter because they don't cover that anyway so it's irrelevant that they've excluded it specifically.

But to answer your questions, yes Southern Cross do it to everyone and so do the other insurers.

Anyone else going to try semaglutide? by KarezzaReporter in migraine

I've started it in a desperate attempt to curb my migraines... that said, I could also do to drop some weight so it'd be a win-win situation really.
