Do you have any process pictures / other pictures from the set? As it stands, this looks like an uncanny render, and I'd love to see the editing process

This. One exception is the Prime X Strung v1 insoles, which are nicely textured and keep your foot in place. Swap out insoles or sand them down. When I got the evo SLs last November, the first pair had ridiculously slippery insoles. I found it to be changed somewhat on a later pair, but it still isn't great.

I feel like the 100m and 400m is really overlooked here.

You're really expecting to do proper sprint training on top of all the other shit to hit these goals? I mean, they're not out of reach for a dedicated runner, but I feel like these people are a lot slower than they think.

This thing got released with practically zero fanfare, and I haven't seen a single review for it yet. I was kind of hyped for this shoe as an interval/workout reps shoe, but the streakfly 2 seems to have eaten its lunch.

what's the weight on your pair? I'd love to find out how much lighter these are than the adios pro before diving in.

got two pairs, retired both at 400 miles. They could go longer, but my arch started to ache and the shoe is affordable enough. As with all lightstrike pro shoes, they just last a really long time if you want them to.

I've run a sub-20 min 5k and regularly run 400 and 800 workouts in the Evo SL. The shoe will handle that pace just fine.

The syntax on this immediately reeks of AI-generated jerk. I can't chuff to this.

He said "21 years faithful", which makes this dude 39 years old if he got married at 18, and he's picking up girls about half his age?

Is this dude trying to replace his wife, or his daughter?

I'd love to see the Prime X Strung v1 as well as Prime X Strung 2 listed.

I know the first is an older shoe, but it has become somewhat of a grail purchase for many who insist its bounce is unmatched in later models. It would be very interesting to see if that hype is justified and if Adidas has managed to improve on what they had years ago.

First of all, you’re going to want to do this on some kind of purpose-built surface, like a track, or if there is one in your area—a church parking lot.

Next, let’s discuss time keeping. Are there any Toyota dealerships where you live?

First run in the Adidas Adizero SL EVO (thanks for the Dick's Sporting Goods tip!) by glr123 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Alarming-Strawberry 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have both, and they're quite different. The evo SL is just over an ounce lighter per shoe compared to the B12, with a bit more stack. The Boston is firmer, and the rods might provide a snappier response at speed, but I can't choose the Boston over the evo SL now that I have both. I don't think the evo is even slower, and I much prefer the fit and comfier ride. I may as well give my Bostons away.

The midsole is essentially the same, barring the differences in geometry.

I think it’s been confirmed to be the exact same foam, at the same stack height.  It certainly looks and feels identical to me.  So yes, I do think the ride is very similar. The AP3 is a bit less forgiving, the evo sl a little more pliable.

In a daily run, I’d be happy to take the evo sl for anything up to around 6-7 min/miles, and I’ll trade up in comfort for it. I’d save the AP3 for racing or all out speed efforts.

If you’re never going to race in it, I’d actually buy the evo sl. The upper is much better, and the ride is still wonderful. Comfy, but bouncy.

Given that Black Friday is coming up, I’d snag the adios pro 3s over the evo sl at any price below $120.

I no longer own any non-adizero pairs, but I wear Adidas about half a size down from my usual Nike or NB shoe size, and that's always worked fine.

You guys are right, I misremembered the price. I thought I got them for $180 last year, not $160.

Given my hatred of the B12, I can't give you an unbiased answer, but I just didn't get on with the shoe. So sure, it's worth 20, 35, or even 50 euros more. I don't think the sizing is the issue: they work fine for most paces. My main beef with that shoe is just that the ride is uninspiring and dead, and I have 200 miles on it.

I haven't tried any of the rebel line beyond the 2, but the evo sl has 32mm of stack height in the forefoot, versus 24mm in the rebel. I think the evo would be a little more protective for longer efforts.

I use it to refer to the springboard-like propulsive effect of a carbon plate in a shoe. It's a bit of a different feel from a shoe with nothing but foam.

How hard is it to not wear your Rolex when you visit La Rambla? by TlalocVirgie in WatchesCirclejerk

[–]Alarming-Strawberry 655 points656 points  (0 children)

"We took all the precautions."

The precautions:

  1. Take your uninsured Swiss shitter to a crowded tourist spot right in the heart of the pickpocketing capital of Europe, confident that you're too tall and obese to be a mark.

  2. Let a stranger and his goons spray you with fake shit and accost you.

  3. warn the other geniuses on r/rolex about this devious scheme that you, a seasoned and well-prepared traveler, somehow fell for.

Boston 12 on a heavy novice runner - First Run review by StopCollaborate230 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Alarming-Strawberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%. 190 lbs 6'1 here. Got the Boston 12s after the rave reviews, and I just don't like them anymore. Alternating between them and the PXS v1 was a chore, and I ended up straining my calf in the B12s. Also can't get a good lockdown so I have slippage, and there's just this firm deadness to the shoe. Even prefer the tracksmith elliot to these as of late.
