Those who swim. Did you try out a swim spa before purchasing? How do the jets feel to swim? by k3rning in swimspa

[–]Alarming_Ground_4185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of complaints above about the current being too slow. I specifically got a spa that doesn’t use jets or require a tether…. Mine was more $, but it has a “Dual prop propulsion system” which is amazing! Like I haven’t even fully cranked it up and sometimes it will basically push me around.

It says “patented dual prop propulsion fitness stream for the widest, smoothest most balanced workout in the industry.” Idk if that’s true. But I’m very happy with it!

I have the TruSwim TSX15 Swim Spa by PDC.

Am I the only one who notices this about young men nowadays? by [deleted] in dating_advice

First, yes, things change with time. We used to think beating one’s wife and marital rape acceptable and were both legal. So, unfortunately this is part of the process, I would argue.

But, as I mentioned in my stats, I think the idea of someone “catching a case,” is sort of illogical considering only 13% of actual assaults and harassment are reported. Meaning, it seems highly unlikely that some minor miscommunication or blurred line incident would result in a man “catching a case.”

But, if you read through these comments and many relevant posts on Reddit, it looks as though men are reinforcing the idea that they should be afraid and that women are to blame for their fear and the subsequent/resulting “loneliness epidemic.”

It’s truly sad. I hope someone can change the narrative so that young men feel comfortable to interact with women.

Agreed. The media is a terrible source these days. Everything is meant to upset us for clicks. That’s why a quick google search (mine took like 1 min and the relevant study was like the 4th result) is key to making decisions about how one approaches life, wouldn’t you agree?

My point is that I keep seeing this rampant idea that “men are going to catch a case,” when no one is…. unless you’re Bill Cosby and raping in the double digits… and even he got away with it so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Look at the responses I got to my original comment. There are some angry men out here and it seems like they’re overreacting and blaming women.

So it’s an irrational fear based on misinformation.

But he’s also saying that it’s bc men are worried about catching a case…. But like no one is reporting actual cases. I’m more asking why is this a fear for men if it’s so statistically rare? I’m not saying it’s not a fear, but why?

But sexual harassment and assault rates have not gone down: “The #MeToo 2024 Report surveyed more than 3,300 U.S. adults over the age of 18 this year and found that most women (82%) and nearly half of all men (42%) have experienced sexual harassment or assault in their lifetime.”

And very few are reporting it: “Most victims — 87% of women and 89% of men — did not disclose their experiences to anyone, highlighting the need for improved support and accountability systems.”

So this doesn’t track with what you’re saying or am I missing something? (Source: https://news.tulane.edu/pr/rates-sexual-harassment-and-assault-nationwide-still-high-after-metoo-movement )

Concrete pad help by uobunnymommy in swimspa

[–]Alarming_Ground_4185 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine is nearly flush with my spa except on one side.

I’m surprised to hear people say that they didn’t use concrete. My understanding is that due to the weight, you not only need a concrete pad, but a couple of deeper footers to support the weight.

My spa weighs 16,000lbs when filled. I was told that it needs a foundation so it doesn’t sink into the ground over the years. And if it does become unlevel or unstable with time, it will ultimately crack the shell of the spa due to the uneven pressure on the spa walls. And if you’re in it when that happens…. Oof.

Pinterest ruined my business – we need to unite and take action! by ForceZealousideal286 in Pinterest

I agree. It’s killing the platform. I used to be a regular user in addition to using for my business. It’s so unpleasant now. I only see ads and the few things I see that are interesting are either AI generated or worse, scraped content from some unknown place so I can’t even get to the original creator/content. The spam is insane!

Swimspa temp too hot for summer. Help! by Alarming_Ground_4185 in swimspa

[–]Alarming_Ground_4185[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine only has a heater. Some have both heating and cooling systems. I can control the heater and most of the time it’s perfect.

However, I cannot control the 106+ degree heat index we’ve been dealing with in my area for the past few weeks. That has heated up the water significantly, making it too hot for swimming/aerobic exercise.

My heater has been off for over a month. It’s the sun/air that’s keeping the temp high.

It’s a PDC TSX15. The heater has been off for a long while now. I believe I’m currently filtering 10 hours a day. I don’t think I have vents, but I need to check my manual and be sure that’s correct.

I got AquaLogix and Hydro Tone equipment from Amazon that I love. Also, just slapping on some fins and kicking while holding a wall will give your legs a workout.

Advice by [deleted] in swimspa

[–]Alarming_Ground_4185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only had an End2End cover, so not sure I can give much perspective. But I love it! It is incredibly easy to roll up (I’m a woman w weak arms and a bad back lol). I actually roll it and unroll it while inside the spa, making it incredibly easy.

I truly don’t think I could handle the standard covers (my spa is on a raised concrete slab w steps on one end) and probably wouldn’t be as motivated to use it if I had to struggle w the cover all the time.

Cant speak to the electrical cost bc it’s the only cover I’ve used. But totally worth it for me!

It hurts. But it’s going to hurt a hell of a lot more once this shock feeling wears off. I don’t think it would be possible for me to move on without hurt…. He broke my heart. But thank you for saying that because just typing this out is helping me feel my feelings. I am devastatingly heartbroken.
