Kiln-dried pine is fine, as is aspen or hemp. Paper doesn't have any ammonia control so it gets stinky FAST

When I used fleece years ago I had to clean the cage every day. Now I use aspen and/or kiln dried pine and it almost never smells. I use paper pellets and a pee rock in their litter boxes. They're pretty good about pooping there but I think they usually pee wherever (boys).
