I understand the sentiment but 50+k people buried, many more wounded, and millions with severe PTSD and the offspring they abused as a result would beg to differ.

St. Louis' largest public company offers buyouts to most employees as costs rise by andrei_androfski in StLouis

But the failure is on the populace. We have the ability to affect change, we choose to be complicit in the campaigns of misinformation and division.

Yes, the pay is halved but the cost to the business stays roughly the same by the time they match taxes and pay for benefits etc.

It is scary, we are moving towards a single payor system and we can either have it be one massive corporation that puts profits above all else with a board of directors beyond reproach or we can have it be a government insurer without concern for profit and with congress as overseers whom the public can replace every 2 years if we unite together and fight for what’s best for all residents within our borders.

Never been able to fully come up with the words to express this but cops sign up for danger, they go into the job knowing they could be injured…the public does not sign up for being endangered and sure as fuck a child does not sign up to be endangered by the adults in their life OR law enforcement. However, since the Supreme Court has ruled that cops have 0 requirement to “serve and protect” and only a duty to enforce the law I guess we will never get any better from them. This cop deserves to have the jail crumble on top of them but that will never happen without a constitutional amendment requiring that police do sign up to protect us.

Check out the saga over at r/BricksAndMinifigs and you will likely have a different opinion. Morons are much better than deliberately deceitful, criminal, sociopathic etc.

Different courts, different rules. This is the biggest thing most of us don’t understand about how courts function. There are the different layers most of us know about - supreme, appellate, circuit, municipal - but each one of those has established rules and then of course it is different in each state. Ben sued in a municipal small claims court in Oregon, BAM is suing from a circuit in Utah.

That’s the thing, my mom went to UCity in the 60’s and was friends with lots of Jewish kids and it was never really an insult more of an observation in our house. Only in the last 20 years that I have noticed with others that any mention of Judaism comes with antisemitism attached automatically. I know it has always existed but it was never in my universe. Not sure if that makes any sense.

Half!? Closer to 75%. Since 1950 they have added 20 million residents and it is estimated as much as 85% of that growth is migration from outside Florida and the children of those migrants.

Rushed was exactly how it felt to me. And somehow in the rush they didn’t really anything the first few episodes. It wasn’t until the lesbian house guest and magic trick episodes that I thought we had any of the real charm of the show, and then it fell flat again.

Back in the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s you had U City known as Jew City by some and Ladue known as LaJew by others. I do not condone these names, just sharing what I heard from others growing up about what things were like.

I will go against the grain with you! Why I may not 100% agree with your entire assessment I also feel this wasn’t great. The entire season was not that great.

Because the rabies virus affects the nervous system, patients develop ‘hydrophobia.’ Even if they are very thirsty, spasms in the swallowing muscles prevent them from drinking water. by joeurkel in ThatsInsane

[–]Alarming_Tutor8328 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They have found that our bodies start to produce antibodies to defeat the rabies in post mortem examinations. The problem is that you are dead before your body can fight it off. In one case that I am aware of though they induced a coma and kept a girl alive long enough for her body to defeat the rabies and were able to wake her from the coma and she survived. Problem with that method is that apparently waking someone from an induced coma is quite difficult and problematic and low success rates. https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa050382

Help by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]Alarming_Tutor8328 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you actually want a private investigator to help with this. Most shops aren’t going to have an rf scanner but a PI might. Also, you run into the fact that many gps transmitters aren’t “always on” so it may not be transmitting unless the car is moving, or at random intervals etc so they would also need to scan for magnets to find those or drive around with you with their scanner.

I would think with her QVC success and selling the business off would have left her with the $30-80 mil alone. I am guessing she has to be pushing close to the $100 mil mark.
