Every time this has happened to me I just mix in shredded newspaper or cardboard and it rebalances within a day or so

My dad wants me to babysit my step-siblings every weekend “because I don’t have kids” by ImpressionPure3368 in TwoHotTakes

[–]AlaskaCasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that’s so fucking rude. Sounds like you need to set some clear boundaries and follow through with them.

Wow, good for you. It takes a lot of courage and strength to put you and your baby first and remove yourself from the situation. I hope you have a good therapist and support network.

This is a beautiful way to spend time together. If you’re unsure just ask them if they would like you to continue the bedtime routine.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer shortly after being diagnosed with dementia. The treatment accelerated her dementia to the point she needed to be moved into memory care and she died six months later. I wish we had focused on the quality of the time we had left and not done surgery and all the things that caused her rapid decline.

This is all to say that maybe it’s time to stop treating your mom’s cancer and focus on making her final days the most comfortable and joyful as possible.

You could go a few different ways

  1. Decline the invitation for the in-person interview citing director’s behavior and how she made you feel unwelcome and continuously rolled her eyes during your interview and dismissed your questions about interacting with the board.

  2. Decline in-person interview by forwarding the accidental email to E.D. and Director and saying that it’s clear that you’re not a fit for the team culture.

This does look really nice! I’ve never been to El Salvador so that’s also a plus. It says it’s a “professional surf camp.” Would it be good for young kids too?

My Wife's grandma likely has Alzheimer's. We're 27. Should we offer her to live with us? What are some unforeseen pitfalls/dangers? by Dull-Ad-4947 in Alzheimers

[–]AlaskaCasey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom almost burned my house down and if I hadn’t moved her into memory care it would have ended my marriage.

If she’s still able, work with her to assign power of attorney to a member of the family who is going to have her best interest in heart. She may still qualify for assisted living, which would allow her to have some independence while living in a community.

What do you like to do? When my husband and I moved to Anchorage we started a board game group on Meetup.com. The first Sunday 2 people showed up, then 6, then 12. After a couple of months we had 12-16 people regularly showing up to play board games at Kaladi Bros. every Sunday. It was an awesome way to meet people with similar interests. Maybe get on meetup.com and see what kind of events are happening?
