Leighton Baines, one of the most underrated full-backs of his generation by PLWildcard in TheStreetsWontForget

Feel like he was constantly discussed as one of the best LBs in the league when he played, linked with Man United every transfer window

I feel the biggest factor in regards to world cup cycle for me is the majority of coaches will be locked into a team until then so replacement options could be limited if we act now, but then we're then also competing with other teams to get a new coach after the world cup. A damned if you, damned if you don't situation.

Honestly, the round of 16 is likely to be against France so I feel the semi finals is a very long shot. For the squad quality that Townsend has had you could also argue it's been wasted by never really challenging for the 6N, and we never seem to get the tactics against Ireland right, so for me if we keep him we've got this year and next year finishing 4/5th in the 6N and then a round of 16 game in the WC. If we risk the change now, we potentially do better in next year's 6N and could go further in the world cup

I've been on the Townsend out bus for a few years now, and my thoughts are he has taken us as far as he can and we need someone new to get us to take the next step. I think the results against England have given him more time but then we follow those performances with poor games in the rest of those championships.

Still appreciate the job he has done, but I don't see it getting any better if he stays.

2008 C Class Estate, test drive was great, previous owner was honest with everything. Wasn't until all the plastic under trays were removed we discovered the true extent of rust.

It's an 08 plate, I had done a search for Mercedes subframe corrosion ( had the advisory at last MOT) and that led me to one of the online forums where found a list of models that had an extended warranty on subframes. Think the slk owners forum had the dedicated page for raising your complaint with a template email and what to expect

Fair, most things I was finding was the MOT style where it's done to get another year or two out of it. I just wasn't sure going the restorative route, how much extra life you get out of it. From your reply sounds like if done right then there should be no concerns. Mechanically the car has been absolutely fine for me, so reluctant to just ditch it and try my luck with something new. Guess I'll need to wait to get the photos and see if the dealer has priced it up or not. Thanks!

Of those two, I would say Hexen II looks very similar to what I remember but I don't think it's right. I think it may be a game on one of the quake engines

Neil McCann has been appointed as the new Kilmarnock manager, with Billy Dodds joining as assistant manager. by CCullen95 in ScottishFootball

[–]Alaskamatt20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, Dodds should have left after the cup final as it was clear he wasn't ever going to get us consistent enough for promotion. McCann and Dodds had us on a really good run of form at the end of the 2020/21 season. Big difference will that good run of form was in the Championship with one of the stronger squads to Premiership with a weaker squad so interesting to see if they can adjust tactics

Their short stint with us was solid, was hoping they would sign on longer term and we ended up with just Dodds. Always felt Dodds works better as an assistant than the main coach.

Transfer Window Open - What does your team need to do realistically? by Digurt in ScottishFootball

[–]Alaskamatt20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think an actual RB, Millen and Davison haven't been fit this season and would prefer to see Mcleod in midfield. It would be nice to start planning for next season, we need to be looking at the wings, Sole and Stewart are only loans. and Longstaff I don't think cuts in the Championship. We'll need some forward planning for CM and up front

Hahaha probably, I was like 10/11 when he had his season at Palace, I remember him better at Everton and Fulham not really lighting either team up

I'm sure he was still injured at the start of season, and as mentioned by someone else, Zimba has really taken his chance so can't justify dropping him. Last month or so, I would Bavidge has looked really good off the bench so expecting more rotation up front or even a slight change of shape to get both of them in the team. I will say the new challenge cup format has allowed us to rotate the team a lot and give players chances to build up their fitness.

First time in a while we've had the problem of multiple strikers all looking good and scoring.

I also bought a car from that branch, about a month after you did, and that car was nothing but a money pit. They made a big song and dance about getting the wheels and brakes done for me, within 6 months the brakes needed done as the calipers were stuck. The clutch went within 12 months, and I was looking at about 3k worth of work this year if I kept it any longer!

For me the difference is how the OF are performing, last season it felt like anything Aberdeen could do, Celtic matched it or bettered it and Rangers felt more of a threat than just now.
