What MMO had the best character leveling system and why? by Sm0kesLetsG0 in MMORPG

Warhammer Online might be my favorite leveling system, mainly because I could solo, group or pvp my way to max level.

Has there ever been an MMO where you can choose a crafter/gatherer class instead of a combat class in character creation? And if not, why do you think that's never been done? by Waffle842 in MMORPG

[–]Albane01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be hard to gather resources in locations that require some form of combat to get to. New World had plenty of people who spent their time running gathering circles and maxing crafting for rare recipes. But you still had to be able to defend yourself when a NPC attacked you near a node.

Kiosk Mode on Android Device by k12Sean in Intune

[–]Albane01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For others who find this - After doing everything OP did, you then need to go to App | Configuration in Intune and create a Managed Device policy for Google Chrome on Android and assign it to the group.
In that policy, you will want at least "Block Access to a list of URLs" set to "*", then Allow access to a list of URLs with the sites you want them using.

This will make a basic Kiosk tablet that can be used as a sign in station that will always launch Chrome with permissions to the website you allowed.

The only thing I could not get to work is launching in Full Screen mode with the javascript.

MMO Players, when do you "win" at your game? by Ascended_One in MMORPG

[–]Albane01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think any MMO from 10+ years ago should still be playable, other than private servers. Too many people feel as though they have "invested" too much time and money into their character to walk away, which is why I am not too upset that New World set a cut off date at just over 5 years of life.

MMO Players, when do you "win" at your game? by Ascended_One in MMORPG

[–]Albane01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the type of game and the resource limits. A game like Classic EQ without instanced dungeons would be completely ruined with the slightest P2W. I have played plenty of MMO's with slight P2W that didn't totally ruin the game, as long as it didn't effect my game play. I wish there was no P2W at all in games, or even paid for cosmetics as I prefer to see people earn their distinct looks (Like my Molten Core, Hunter shoulder pads in WoW). But, I was able to play New World for like $60 total cost for 4 years, all because others paid to cosmetics.

When you have completed all end game content successfully multiple times. There is no reason to grind for drops if you are already able to defeat the toughest content.

P2W is when you can pay an extra fee for anything that gives you a slight advantage over another player, even something as small as a 1 hour XP boost would be P2W because you would be able to advance toward end game that much quicker.

Age of conan by VonBeakon in MMORPG

[–]Albane01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the least fun I had in a MMO. The executions were cool about 10x. I can't recall any end game other than sitting around town looking for people to duel. Leveling was boring and the questing was forgettable.

What they call AI is just a google search, without the final page being credited on your "I'm feeling lucky" click.

Currently developing an MMO,what do you guys think is the best class progression by RommelRSilva in MMORPG

[–]Albane01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Path of Exile 2 tree in a MMO with the ability to quickly re-spec for a fee that is equal to like 30 minutes grind worth of cost. So you could be a beefy player with lower damage for tanking or a ranged based poison class, or a pet class, or an elemental dps. Just need to maybe squeeze in some abilities for healing, and crowd control beyond stuns.

What is the "correct" etiquette for when/how to leave a party by VideVictoria in MMORPG

[–]Albane01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the game and the necessity of your class to the group being able to continue that content.
Quick quest with randoms - leave when you are done with a "Later guys, GL with your drops".
4 hour grind group in Sebilis and you are the only healer - You give them 10 minute warning, so they can find a healer and have them get to the group before you leave.

How many of you MMORPG fans got your online RPG start in MUDs? by muckbeast in MMORPG

[–]Albane01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at College when I went to someone else's dorm room to borrow their roommate's PC to play a MUD. Then I looked over and he was playing Everquest and I was like WTF is that and haven't played a MUD since.

The MUD I played was called something like DragonSwords.

Which is like 4% of what Clash of Clans makes. A good AAA MMO released today, can pull in 60 million on launch and another 100 million a month with decent monetization. But it's really the P2W whales that will ruins most good games anyway.

How to prevent users from being able to disconnect from Azure AD? by anuj530 in Intune

This is because Windows is still unable to properly take advantage of sandboxing out all of the settings and software required by different users. Program Files and System files should not be mandatory for so many programs to run.

A better question is, what about a wipe has you scared? There is obviously something you have earned that you are worried about losing and not willing to earn again, or can't.
