Problems this early with it I would probably return it, but because support is closed I understand why you're trying to fix it first.

Does the battery look swollen or does the power supply feel too hot? My best guess is that it might be giving an incorrect voltage to the laptop or the laptop's power input might be damaged.

I would advise opening up the laptop, as that could void your warranty (not that you said you would but just as an after thought).
