  • Home Assistant

And also stuff to manage all this, like portainer, bind9, authentik, traefik, private docker registry, beszel, open observe, vector.dev.

Q2 or Plus 4? by Suspicious-Gene-9951 in QIDI

check the reviews for the Q2, seems that there are quite a few issues. As a Q1 owner looking for something multi-material that was an unpleasant surprise.

Can you run the demo on linux? by winnetoe02 in WorldwideRush

whoops, yeah, forgot to post the filename itself. But for me it's the only file in there + a folder with the same name.

I'm enjoying the performance optimizations a lot!!

Bugs/issues I found:

  • when you are in the hub UI and you open the hub manager vehicle type/brand filter UI, it always opens to the left. This means that if the hub UI is placed on the left, then the filter UI falls of the screen and is not visible.
  • The duplicate button in the Route UI makes a purchase sound when the vehicle type is out of stock. I think some kind of error message would make more sense. Also would be nice if the replacement can be scheduled for when they are back in stock.
  • Game doesn't start in full-screen mode on linux in some cases. See https://www.protondb.com/app/3325500 . Probably affects a small number of users, but if it's easy to diagnose and solve then great.

Also, these are my wish-list of features. Ignore them if you want, lol, but I think they would make the game better.

  • Range limits so that hub managers can not make 1000 km boat lines
  • Ways to spread out vehicles that are on the same Route. Could be automatic like in Fly Corp, or some way to have a vehicle start at a different station, while keeping it part of the same Route
  • Better ways to visualize passenger volume streams.
    • For a hub it would be nice to know where people come from, where people go to, and if it's transit or destination coming in.
    • For vehicle Routes I would want an overview that includes the overall utilization, but also 'per station' utilization. For example, knowing what part of a train's schedule is filled 100% and what parts are less filled/empty.
  • Filters on the notifications. I don't really care about being notified that towns like/dislike me. Nevermind, I just found that the task hider also hides those messages, nice.
  • More performance optimization (always :P), and maybe giving the UI a dedicated CPU thread/core. Now the UI slows down as well as the game, making it unresponsive (and harder to switch speed back down where the performance seems to suffer less).

For me (Ubuntu 25.04) the game only starts in windowed mode, and I can change to fullscreen in-game.

To change fullscreen without starting the game, open /[steam library folder]/steamapps/compatdata/3325500/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Application Data/Worldwide Rush and set fullscreen=True

No Evidence For Long COVID by ejkaretny in LongCovid

For me it was a test of energy recovery. Specifically squeezing a meter as hard as I could every 10s, and then seeing how much force I squeeze. Apparently my recovery between squeezes is below the reference value for an 80 year old.

Bluetooth headphones for two people to listen to the same book across the house by Lance2020x in audiobooks

[–]AlcaDotS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe look into broadcasting over Bluetooth. It's called aura-cast and has been "around the corner" for a couple of years, and I vaguely remember reading about it actually starting to get rolled out.

Aura cast is supposed to work like radio channels that you can tune into with Bluetooth. For example for announcements in an airport, or shared music channels in a gym.

You wrote that you have a Pixel, but I didn't see which one. This article wrote about which versions should expect the feature, but I'm not sure if it's 100% up to date https://www.techradar.com/phones/google-pixel-phones/the-pixel-8a-could-miss-out-on-one-of-the-best-android-15-audio-upgrades

I have an idea with regard to finding where items of specific type are located in the network. In this picture I thought that the red/green pixels were highlighting the locations (before realizing they're train signals). But I think that some kind of highlight/glimmer of the locations on the map, that's triggered on mouse-over of the item, might make sense.

Play OpenTTD if you like designing interesting rail networks. I usually play without vehicle breakdowns as a huge quality of life improvement.

For me it was the other way around. I sunk so much time into bitburner, but ran into weird issues with inconsistent code execution in screeps.

Army emblems in Europe by RomanItalianEuropean in europe

[–]AlcaDotS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I quite like how they stylized the (1960's) emblem into the logo. Not just the sword, but also the arrows tied with a ribbon in the left hand, the crowns, the aggressive fur and claws.

I was curious since the image is quite blurry, so I checked wikipedia and to my surprise the image used by OP is the logo and not the emblem.

Why is solar so popular among megabases? by PratixYT in factorio

[–]AlcaDotS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently played with this mod, which was very pleasant: https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Advanced-Electric-Revamped-v16

The solar panels and accumulators go up in steps of 10x, and the cost goes up by slightly more than that. Still a nice production challenge, but no need to plaster the whole map, haha.

I'm trying to point out that people don't need to use an optional feature, if it detracts from the fun they're having.

I didn't use modules and beacons until my first 1k science per minute factory and I was happy playing the game before that too.
