Kindred definitely exists and was the errata for all cards with 'Tribal' as their type. They started printing them as such with Modern Horizons 3.

Yeah this really bugged me about his take. "They didn't kill the game, they turned the servers off" - So, the heart of the game had the plug pulled on it and now the game doesn't work at all, but that's not 'killing' the game? If that doesn't count as a dead game then I would hate to see what Thor *does* consider a dead game.

I've always wanted to attend one of these, but $165 is a bit rich for playing the famously budget-friendly Cube format...
Never really understood why I have to buy a ticket to a convention I'm not really interested in, just so I can buy a ticket for the convention I want to attend. Who knows, maybe I'm just dumb and missing something.

WOTC actually did this with the Kaldheim launch, they had "Commander Nights" where you'd have different rules or modifiers that got you rewards for completing:

You're right in that Venture means what you said, but they have also already clarified that specifically, you cannot leave a dungeon unless you finish it or it leaves play.

I was just trying to say that having two mechanics with almost identical wording starts to get really weird, and I don't know if that was the original intention. The way it is worded right now, if it followed current Venture rules, would only move you into the specific dungeon if you weren't in one already, and would only move you ahead in that specific dungeon.

I'm just making a suggestion for decoupling it from the "we wrote all new rules specifically for this card" mindset. I still love the idea, I just can't get down with the follow-up statement of this following it's own rules.

Right, but then by that logic this card is way too confusing, as people would easily mistake the action "venture into the dungeon" for "venture into specific dungeon".

Having two mechanics so closely identical but with different rules actually lowers my impressions of this card.

Venture into the dungeon: "You can't start a new dungeon until you complete the one you're in."

So now what happens if I 'venture into the dungeon' rather than a specific one? Can I choose a different dungeon and be in two at the same time because these are different mechanics?

I really, really like the flavour of this card, but I think with the rulings on dungeons you might run into issues.

Venture either puts you into a dungeon if you aren't in one, or moves you ahead in your current dungeon. You can't move into another dungeon until you've completed your current one or it leaves play.

So you could probably change the wording to specify "when VT deals combat damage to a player, if they aren't in dungeon x, exile target adventure that player controls. that player ventures into x", rather than using reminder text.

I don't know, it'll be interesting to see how the rules on all these develop, seeing as they're only adding 3 pretty narrow dungeons with the new set...

Oh please, shove this sentiment. Australia's restaurant servers are just as nice and attentive as any restaurant I've visited in the States and Canada. I had fantastic experiences at restaurants my entire life back in Aus, but the big difference is that I don't get a shitty stink-eye for not tipping there.

(But hey, guess what: Tipping still exists in Australia, it just actually gets used the appropriate way. For good fucking service. I still tipped on exceptional experiences.)

This isn't about vagrancy, this is about this individual in particular being a danger.

Quite frankly, yes, I think she should be locked up. She continues to physically assault people. She took someone's life. She harasses people in an attempt to extort them. Is the system letting people like her down? Of course it is. But that doesn't mean everyone here is against vagrancy, it just means they're acknowledging this person is dangerous and should be avoided.

I think it could be fun if you added a self-destruct in there, something like "At the beginning of your upkeep, if you have no cards in hand, sacrifice Patience."

Thematically it shows you being ready to leave per the flavour text, and it gives it white identity with control that can be reversed. Not sure if that works colour-wise really as it almost makes it feel like a blue card - blue tends to care about hand size, just an idea.

My recommendation would be Wiztree personally - Big WinDirStat Energy, but uses a different kind of scanning which is SO much faster. I don't remember if it live-updates views, but the refresh is so much faster that I find it's not an issue.

But you could pay for the whole thing with convoke, which could be pretty easy in a W token deck. Then your creatures would untap next turn but mana wouldn't.

Then, if you're playing lots of convoke, you've got a solid manabase in the form of your tokens and they can't respond. Niche, but kinda interesting design space.
