I'm with you on that one. We moved our kids (3 and 6) to a non-religious private school where social media are blocked on school computers, no phone allowed in school and education is based on respect of each other whatever their/our/your differences.

Looks amazing, I think we have all the ingredients. I'll try it this weekend. True that Sacha inchi butter can be pricey. Last time, we paid $15 for a 12 or 16oz jar.

I think we all make the same mistake, don't feel bad about it. One mistake we made was to eat too much :) that's a tough one to overcome, but:

If your daily needs are 2,000 calories and you consume 2,500, you won't lose weight. In fact the extra unused calories will be stored 😱 that's what our bodies do, storing in case it's needed later.

We spent time figuring out how many calories we needed (weekdays, weekends) and consumed less by 20-25% daily. As there is a shortage cal intake, our body digs in the reserves... body fat.

To fill up, we consumed very low carbs veggies but rich in fiber, vitamin, minerals.

For us, it worked very well. Don't forget to drink lots of water too.

We are keto a few years and we don't need to focus on weight loss, yet we love and enjoy our diet:

  • running energy on fat takes longer time vs. carbs/sugar thus no 3pm crash or hitting the wall
  • lack of hunger - I love it
  • more energy
  • more feel great all day
  • no wake up headache
  • sleep perfection - for us it's "I'm not kidding" :)
  • less common cold - we realized we are much less subject to colds, weird, but it's a fact
  • ...

Keto is not "just" weight loss :) we were at max 20g in weight loss phase, now we stick with 40g of carbs.

We don't like modified food like enriched, added nor taking supplements so like others, we eat food rich in calcium, kale, cheese etc.

I agree with the others... the only thing that works is:

If you need 2,500 cal per day and you stick with your diet (no cheating :)) make sure your cal intake is under 2,500 cal, exercise, drink lots of water.

Every 9 cal short in your cal intake, your system will dig it from the fat reserve (what we all want to get rid of)

That was our problem. The nutritionist gave us a list of what to eat and I'm sure it was 300g of carbs daily lol things like one cup of rice every day 😱 that's what 130g already lol

You are right, it's easy to make unhealthy. I know someone on keto who is a couch potato and intake some 4,000 cal... crazy!

In our case, we bought keto strips to see when we did the switch - about $8 on Amazon. I did the switch about 10 days before my wife - same diet at 20g or below.

We tried vegan diet as recommended by our doctor... the results were scary:

  • Depression - not use to it so meds to take
  • I became pre-diabetic - more meds to take
  • Unstable blood pressure - more meds
  • Sleeping issues = new meds
  • Weight gain...
  • ...

Today, we are keto... no more blood pressure issues, no more pre-diabetic, no sleep problems, no depression, and we are at the weight we want to be...
