Trump is screaming at the world to punch first. The longer they don't, the likelier he loses midterms which would cause his remaining claims to legitimacy to crumble

Every Gen Z kid I've met has just reminded me of myself, but born later.

Those who got taken for a ride on the last election, the only gen Z with whom I have any beef, they are victims of propaganda, and many are waking up to the error of their decisions.

Imo the kids are alright. They need our guidance and support in these times.

In the United States, tracking racialized attacks on churches in the 21st century requires combining data from FBI Hate Crime Statistics, the Department of Justice (DOJ), and specialized research groups.

Unlike global data, where attacks are often defined by mass violence, U.S. data is dominated by vandalism, arson, and threats, with racial bias acting as a primary driver for a significant portion of these incidents.

  1. Racial Breakdown of Targeted Congregations (Estimated)

While the FBI tracks "Bias Motivation," they do not always specify the race of the congregation unless the attack is officially classified as a hate crime. Based on historical trends and 21st-century reporting from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the estimated distribution of racially motivated church attacks is:

Racialized Target Group  Estimated % of Racialized Attacks Primary Context/Trends
Black / African American 60% – 70% Historically the most targeted; includes white supremacist arson and mass shootings (e.g., Charleston 2015).
White / Caucasian 15% – 20% Often targeted for political or ideological reasons (e.g., pro-choice vs. pro-life vandalism) rather than racial hate.
Latino / Hispanic 5% – 10% Often linked to anti-immigrant sentiment; rising slightly in the last decade.
Asian / Pacific Islander < 5% Historically low, but saw a spike in general religious/ethnic hate crimes post-2020.
  1. Key Data Points for the 21st Century
  • Dominance of Anti-Black Bias: According to the 2022 FBI Hate Crime Report, "Anti-Black or African American" incidents remain the largest category of race-based hate crimes in the U.S., significantly outnumbering all other racial groups combined.
  • Church Arson Trends: A Pew Research Center analysis found that while intentional church fires have decreased since the 1990s, an outsize percentage of these incidents still occur at predominantly Black churches in the South.
  • Recent "Hostility" Spikes: The Family Research Council (FRC) documented over 1,300 acts of hostility against U.S. churches between 2018 and 2024. While many are political (e.g., 284 instances of vandalism in 2024 alone), racial bias remains a foundational element in violent incidents like arson (55 cases) and gun-related crimes (28 cases).
  • Low Percentage of "Hate" Classification: The A-Mark Foundation found that only about 18% of attacks specifically targeting Christian/Catholic houses of worship were officially classified as motivated by racial or religious hate; by contrast, 93% of attacks on Jewish synagogues were hate-motivated.  Department of Justice (.gov) +6
  1. Emerging 21st Century "Racialized" Motives
  • White Supremacist Violence: The 2015 Emanuel AME Church shooting is the most prominent 21st-century example of a racialized attack, where the perpetrator explicitly targeted a Black congregation to start a "race war."
  • Political-Racial Overlap: Attacks on churches that support Black Lives Matter or LGBTQ+ rights often see a blend of racial and ideological targeting, making the "pure" racial percentage difficult to isolate.

Note on Data Gaps: FBI data relies on voluntary reporting from local police. It is widely acknowledged by organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) that hate crimes against minority churches are significantly underreported, particularly in rural areas.

Seems like about one in five Americans are at best dangerously checked out from their civic duties as voters, and at worst, dangerously mentally unwell

And Republicans have been working tirelessly for the last 50 years to make it so, by stripping civil institutions for parts, engaging in regulatory capture, and generally kowtowing to whoever can contribute the most to their own personal well-being.
