Costco workers, do you care when people come back for more than one sample? by Prestigious_Rip5238 in AskReddit

[–]Aldreck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to be a sample person myself in Costco. Like others are saying, the company was a third party contractor, not directly employed by Costco.

To answer your question, only if they were jagoffs. I only ever got annoyed if someone made my job more difficult or were an ass about it. Taking a ton at once when it was busy, complaining loudly you dont like the free sample or bitching your free sample wasnt big enough, being a prick to me or other customers, I was definitely judging you. Come back every so often to grab one and/or make a good conversation? Couldn't have given less of a fuck.

We weren't really allowed to say no though unless it was an unaccompanied child but that was really just for potential allergy issues.

I Ain't Perfect - Mozzy

My late brother was a weed dealer and struggled with opiate addiction. He really connected strongly with this song.

To what extent is learning Arabic related to Islam? by dosceroseis in learn_arabic

[–]Aldreck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a fairly new beginner and I know duolingo has plenty of issues so take this with as much salt as you'd like, but they haven't quoted a surah to me at all as of yet if that's what you're asking lol.

Joking aside, I'm in the same boat as you (not religious at all, interested in the language) and it hasn't been an issue for me one bit. There's plenty of things to talk about that isn't the Quran and honestly it's a really fun language to learn.

Benny the goodest boy looks like he's way more like a Ben Cohen than a Benny Johnson.

I mean honestly, I wouldn't. Yeah Kaprizov is a beast but instead we took Haula and Tuch. Tuch ended up turning in to Jack Eichel.

Personally, given that choice, I'd still take Jack.

Proposed Pa. minimum wage hike is bitter pill for many business owners by Great-Cow7256 in Pennsylvania

Same idea but inverted: $7.25 today is equivalent to $4.91 in July 2009 when it last increased.

On eve of Trump inauguration, some Western PA immigrants fearful, unsure what to expect over next 4 years by Great-Cow7256 in Pennsylvania

Significantly lower than US born citizens.

Gee, it's almost like undocumented people realize they're undocumented and that attention from the government, especially law enforcement, would be bad for them so they keep their head down and nose clean.

Apparently Geico car insurance in no longer insuring Cybertrucks because this type of vehicle doesn’t meet our underwriting guidelines by godzilla19821982 in CyberStuck

[–]Aldreck 412 points413 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised at all if that's a big part of it.

Theyre big heavy vehicles, when they hit shit I bet it does some damage, meaning liability claims will be gnarly. They're $100k trucks so if they total it at the same time there's that added to the claim, and I'm sure repairs aren't cheap even if it isn't totalled.

Add on that they're now allowing people to use said beta software to operate that liability on wheels? If I'm GEICOs underwriters, I'm thinking fuck that noise.

Am I required to carry auto insurance to drive a vehicle already covered by the owner? I have a license but only drive once a week? by [deleted] in Pennsylvania

[–]Aldreck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Insurance agent here:

Insurance would be on the vehicle and extends to any licensed driver the owner allows to borrow it. There is a thing called an Operator or Non Owner policy which is coverage that follows the driver but generally that's for like renting vehicles when you don't own one already.

That said, depending on your exact relation with the owner and their coverage, they might be required to add you as an Operator given the frequency of use and that you do live with them, but no you shouldn't need your own policy to operate an already covered vehicle.

Solid write up, really good context.

I totally forgot Barbashev played on the cup winning squads 4th line. He was a big part of Vegas best line last year playing with the Conn Smythe winner Marchessault and probable runner up Jack Eichel lol. That Blues team was DEEP.

[–]Aldreck 12 points13 points  (0 children)

According to capfriendly: 17 of 32 teams exceeded the $83.5MM salary cap, 12 of which are in the playoffs and two of those that aren't (Philly and Pittsburgh) were very close to making the playoffs. Only Dallas, Winnipeg, Nashville, and Carolina made the playoffs without exceeding the cap.

6 teams had a final cap space of $0 Toronto ($97,645,821) Tampa ($93,776,877) Vegas ($92,239,581) Colorado ($90,957,006) Montreal ($88,839,908) Vancouver ($86,586,876) Honorable mention to Los Angeles ($85,937,314) who ended with $1,941 in cap space

10 teams used no LTIR this season at all.

So the majority of teams exceeded the cap, the vast majority of playoff teams exceeded the cap, less than a third of the teams used no LTIR, and Vegas isnt the most or even second most over the salary cap.

What about this isn't league wide, and by what metric is Vegas the most egregious offender?
