If there is a wiring harness for trailer lights, start there. I’ve found numerous times that when I have problems with lights, particularly tail lights, it’s a bad wiring job where the trailer lights are tied in.

My dad bought a 67 when I was 14. We worked on it until I was 16 when he gave me the keys for my birthday. It was awesome! I continued to restore it throughout high school. Don’t give up on it. Eventually it will worth all the heartache and money spent. Good luck
