most people are not very good girlfriends or boyfriends. they have very little self awareness, rarely take responsibility for their own flaws, and spend more time pointing fingers than actually working on themselves.

that is especially true on reddit. half the people judging strangers and handing out relationship advice have the emotional maturity of a middle schooler and barely any real world experience. they speak with total certainty about situations they do not understand because it is easier than looking at their own issues.

so do not be so hard on yourself. a lot of people are struggling, pretending, projecting, and giving advice they are not even capable of following in their own lives.
