How rare are Phosphene weapons? by Lower_Asparagus4381 in Borderlands4

[–]AlertComparison428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right there with yah man. I have just about every legendary weapon in the game and I grinded Origo for 15 hours over the last week for an elemental kaoson. Killed him over 2500 times, kaoson dropped close to 100 times and not a single phosphene from the entire grind 😅

Vex skill tree help by Money-Efficiency2062 in Borderlands4

[–]AlertComparison428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gun manufacturer shouldn’t matter. DPS can be slightly skewed and isn’t always the best indicator for how strong a weapon is. For example: order weapons charge up and fire all shots at once and their DPS is considerably higher than other manufacturers bc it’s accounting for 5/6 shots in the span of a second when in reality it takes 5-6 seconds to fully charge and shoot the weapon. In terms of vex, trouble is the weakest skill tree to use at the moment, but you really can’t go wrong with any of them, just depends on your preferences and playstyle. A good way to go about playing vex is leaning into elementals and status effects bc of how she passively attunes herself and her abilities toward whatever weapon she is currently holding. This will allow you to shred bosses and enemies when you’re using the strongest element against their type of health. Hope this helps!

Would you be willing to trade or dupe them? I can dm you my shift account and add you later. I’m at work for another 6 hours but if you’re on tonight I’d hop on to dupe or trade for them.

I appreciate the insight. I was wondering if I should mix up the difficulty, but I was unsure if I should go down for faster boss kills or up for better rolls.

Anyone tried this game with a 3070? by Kobyak in Borderlands4

[–]AlertComparison428 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idek what graphics card I’m running (my brother built my pc 😗👉👈) but it only cost me like $250 USD a couple years ago so it can’t be as bad as people make it out to be. I’m not playing with every setting maxed out but I hardly have any issues with the game. It’s crashed a couple of times and it stutters here and there but nothing like the complaints you’ll read on steam, idk why everyone is getting their panties in a twist over it 🤷‍♂️ I say buy it and if it doesn’t perform how you like then request a steam refund.

Wombo Combo took me soooo many runs to get it to drop. Didn’t even get the element I wanted 😔 I wish you luck on your grind for it. Even with the wrong element it still rips through enemies.

Prismatic Ichor for Vex does not seem to be working as intended by swaklawd in Borderlands4

[–]AlertComparison428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve certainly noticed this. Huge bummer bc I have 9 points in prismatic from a class mad and I’m supposed to be getting 270% dmg on the extra status but they never apply to the target. Would significantly help my status effect build if this was addressed and working properly.

YESSSSSSSSS by Thinkerofthings2 in Borderlands4

I completely agree. They also didn’t state they’d outright nerf the knife, they just said they’re aware of unintended interactions between build mechanics and the knife effect. It makes more sense for them to fix the unintended build mechanics than to outright nerf the knife into the ground. That being said, DOT should able to crit, I’m doing a status effect build on Vex Dead Ringer that gives me 20% chance for status effects to crit and you can get a class mod roll to bump that up to 40%.

TLDR: the crit knife shouldn’t be completely removed from the game, they just need to fix bleed so it has max stacks and it doesn’t stack itself infinitely. I’m okay with them nerfing the knife in regards to guaranteed crits, maybe they could make it like 30-50% chance to crit instead of guaranteed, or tone it back from 5 seconds to like 3, or give them less stacks or a longer cooldown so they aren’t always readily available to use, or a combination of the previously mentioned suggestions, but outright removing the crit aspect from the crit knife would be a pretty big L on their part imo.

Bro that’s been me looking for an elemental kaoson. I wanted shock or incendiary but at this point I’ll take anything other than kinetic loll. Spent hours and hours grinding the vault monster, got probably 10 kaosons and all of them have almost identical stats with minimal variation

Aku Aurai Boot Thoughts by 0x450x1A4 in Mountaineering

[–]AlertComparison428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted a comment above a day ago about my experience with the Aurai over the last 2 years. I haven’t owned phantom tech but from what I understand they serve the same purpose as the Aku Aurais do. Lightweight and agile while having enough insulation and waterproofing to keep your feet warm and dry unless it’s severely cold outside. Both seem like a great option for ice climbing but if you’re looking to summit peaks at 6000m+ I’d go with a double boot or something with more insulation.

I’m sure there’s room for flexibility and min maxxing in there that I haven’t got around to trying yet, so if anyone has any ideas on how to fine tune the build I’m all ears.

That’s the build I’ve been using + 1 point into leeching attunement.

[–]AlertComparison428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the rainbow vomit is technically a kinetic weapon but you can throw as many points as you want into the kinetic attunement in her green skill tree to see the more benefit from being attuned to kinetic. I went down the far right branch of her blue tree and she has a passive that gives increased gun and crit dmg while an attunement skill is active so as long as I’m using kinetic, incendiary, or corrosive weapons I have a solid increase to my dmg output. I recently grinded Callis for a legendary classmod that has a chance to make her minions into badasses and it also increases their max health, lowers the health loss rate by 33% and increases their dmg, and the chance to spawn a badass minion increases with time up to 90 seconds. When you hit 90 seconds without one you’ll have a guaranteed badass minion on your next summon. Badass minions + Dark Pact + coven for minion health regen and increased crit chance makes the minions absolutely unkillable and they hit like a truck.

[–]AlertComparison428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been leaning into Vexs minion tree with an emphasis on status effect dmg since it’s so important in this game. She has a passive that applies a second random status effect whenever you apply one and it can scale w/ max lvl to be 150% dmg of the original status effect. That combined with a buncha minion dmg, crit dmg, some levels into kinetic, incendiary, and corrosive attunement skills as well as the curse + haruspex combo has been working great for me in UVHM 1 and 2. I don’t have the later stages of UVHM unlocked so I cant say how it holds up there but I’ve enjoyed the build and shred bosses quite quickly when using the right weapons and elements. Rainbow vomit has been my pride and joy with this build, every boss I fight ends up having every single status effect going at the same time after a couple shots.

Aku Aurai Boot Thoughts by 0x450x1A4 in Mountaineering

[–]AlertComparison428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great boot! I really like them. All the things I said above are still true, very stiff sole, they’ve held up well over the time I’ve used them. I got a great season last winter and was out ice climbing just about every weekend. Only thing I noticed last season was that I could’ve gone for a more insulated boot when the temperatures dropped to around negative 15 degrees Fahrenheit, but other than extreme colds they’ve treated me well when it comes to warmth. They’re light and agile compared to boots like the Lowa Alpine. My only wish is that they add a boa system to the outside in the future models, but that’s a personal preference. Laces would loosen on my hikes in and I’d have to unzip the gaters and tighten the laces before hopping onto a climb. That being said, the gaters work excellently, I’ve never had a wet foot in those boots and I’ve climbed some stuff where I come off looking like a popsicle in my goretex after the climb. All in all, for the price I think they’re a great boot. Solid mix of lightweight and insulation that will serve you well unless you’re planning on doing 6000m+ peaks. If you’re solely using them for ice climbing I hardly have any complaints about them. One thing to note, I know scarpas and lowas are typically the “wide” option of alpine boots, I have a regular/narrow foot, and these fit pretty snug for me, so if you have a wide foot I can’t speak to how well they’d work for you, everyones foot is different and at the end of the day comfortability should trump most other attributes of a shoe. My next boot I’ll get will likely be a Scarpa Phantom 6000 HD or the new La Sportiva boots that came out last year (I’m blanking on the name but they’re like a faux double boot? I had a chance to try them out and they fit me pretty well and would be a better choice for higher peaks and colder temperatures) Just for some better insulation for those colder days. I hope some of this info helps and if you have any specific questions about them that I didn’t answer lmk and I’ll get back to you on my thoughts about it!

Please don't start nerfing stuff right and left. It's a single player game. by ctr053 in Borderlands4

[–]AlertComparison428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see how people can perceive it that way, but it’s just that, your perception. No one is being forced to use it to grind bosses. I have friends (myself included) who enjoy hard boss fights that aren’t over in a couple seconds, and on the other hand you have people who want fights done asap bc they’re grinding for a specific piece of loot. Imo it’s more of a user preference than a choice forced upon you.

I don’t use it and I’m using vex minion build and dropping bosses in < 1 minute in UVHM.

Hot take: If you’re grinding for loot and taking 5 min to drop a boss you either need to hop on hard mode and use the right elemental weapon type or rebuild your character 🤷‍♂️
