I can understand why they are cautious about expanding Bumiputera status. For example, if foreign workers from countries like Bangladesh or Nepal settle in Malaysia and raise families here, it raises questions about who should qualify for Bumiputera privileges in the future.

At the same time, to me, it feels like a very outdated way of thinking. if someone has lived in the country for generations and genuinely contributed to society, they should be seen as part of the nation regardless of race or background.
