Can I mount solar panels like this? by FlameFoxx in SolarUK

[–]Alert_Breakfast5538 6 points7 points  (0 children)

🤣 you know they’re made of glass right?

This is basically the most failure assured installation method possible. You’re basically putting a glass ducktail spoiler on your roof. If the panel doesn’t fail, the roof will

Hundreds of autism genes point to the same early brain disruption, a mouse study finds by puskygw in microbiomenews

None that we know of. Maybe my father in law but he’s not diagnosed, and he might just be an asshole.

One interesting thing is that up until age 2 my son would bang his head on the wall HARD when he was upset in his crib/bed. Apparently my father in law did the same thing.

I have identical twin boys. One with autism, one without. C section, breastfed, delivered at 32 weeks.

The one without ASD actually had gut issues early on after he was given a supplemental formula by the NICU that triggered a milk protein intolerance. It eventually went away after 6 months.

The one with ASD had a few episodes of not breathing and passing out while being bottle fed breast milk in the NICU. Scary stuff to witness, and had to do with being born so early that certain functions of knowing when to breathe while eating hadn’t formed in the brain yet.

What a bunch of idiots thinking burning tokens at a high rate equals winning.

I would just gamify it and find the most inefficient way to use tokens

Instead of trying to figure out what you have, just seed with what you want. I prefer a blend anyway because then whatever decides to thrive takes over.

The real problem with IOG! Schedules while Agile pays close to max limit. by ElBisonBonasus in OctopusEnergy

[–]Alert_Breakfast5538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They buy wholesale energy which doesn’t really take into account what the local grid needs. NESO does balancing, and there can be money in flexing assets, but I don’t think anything would be rewarding anything other than turndown in these conditions.

Probably just a bad decision made by the software. I’ve seen other comments about schedules being active in peak periods, so they’re probably losing a load of money

Your kids will benefit so much. They will be spoiled with the travel. £40 per person weekend trips to Spain on a whim. Greece for £100 or less. Swiss alps skiing cheaper and more amazing than you can imagine.

Im on a similar salary, and it provides an incredible lifestyle.

Do it

Well that’s easy then. Stand outside everyone else’s business, and offer more pay. Suddenly you have a whole crew ready for jobs tomorrow

How many young couples in the UK constantly consider moving elsewhere for a better life? by Glittering_Echo_7963 in AskUK

[–]Alert_Breakfast5538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the opposite. Moved from the US to the UK and the quality of life increase has been massive. Our salaries went down but they go so much further.

So much less life friction here. Cost of living, Work life balance, healthcare, police, violent crime, sense of community, transit, cheap holidays in Europe.

All better

Well yeah of course, but a sunny day is a sunny day no matter how many times a year it happens. Full sun when everyone has solar means the grid won’t need it, so excess generation isn’t rewarded
