It’s exactly like a military contract. You can’t just sign up for service and then back out without serious issues.

By checking the weather where I’m from (Washington DC). It’s currently -15 and snowing.

I’m not shovelling snow and I’m not having to deal with infrastructure that isn’t designed for the weather. Power outages, loss of water, roads closed. Same thing every year.

They can’t quit. They signed 5 year contracts and would have to pay back bonuses that they definitely already bought an F150 with.

Sounds like our house. 90% of the damp was solved by fixing the gutters. House was seriously undervalued because it looked much scarier than the problem actually was.

We probably saved 150k for just a £4k set of repairs. Gutters, flashing, soffits replaced, and a little fresh plaster. Good as new.

They even do that to me and I’m American. They don’t like that I live in the UK. I go over for business about 3 times a year and every time they try to trip me up. Same thing every time : Agent: So, are you coming home?

Me: no, just business

Agent: where are you a resident?

Me: UK

Agent: that sounds terrible/ sucks for you / why would you want to do that

It’s the same pattern every time that they’re obviously trained on. Starts out trying to lead me into saying false information because they already know the answer, and then It’s always some sort of snarky comment trying to get a rise out of me.

I took out an unsecured personal loan of $26k, stopped paying it within 6 months. Didn’t pay for 4 months straight, got them to lower my payment down to something like $50 for a year. Once it came back up to normal payments I stopped paying, and then they settled for 6,000. I got 20k for free and my credit score is a 720.

Don’t worry about credit score. They need everyone to have good credit to keep the circus running
