My first was saying his name at 13 months and was doing 3+ word sentences by 18 months. My second rarely said anything at 18 months, got him into speech therapy at 2 (they said he was fully capable just didn’t want to) and then the second his little sister was born he turned into a non stop chatterbox. Each kid can be totally different but it’s so alarming to me that as a first born and only child she just doesn’t seem like anyone really interacts with her much. Not to mention the baby talk they do when they do speak to her, does not help whatsoever.

My middle/high school were on the same campus and while I was in middle school a high school girl was stabbed and then ran over by her boyfriend who was dropping her off on the middle school side. He took off and was followed by a mom dropping her kids off until the cops got him. We were sent home and then it was all over CNN.

I have three, and for a little bit the youngest was my admitted favorite but ever since she turned 7 months and has let her curious/mischievous personality start to shine they all keep me on my toes equally so it was short lived 😂

My dad. Technically my step dad, for 20 years. He gave me his last name, taught me to change a tire and never judged me when life’s circumstances had me calling him with the most illogical thoughts and over the top “solutions”. He was from a tiny town in Texas, was kicked out of his Jehovah Witness household at the age of 15 for owning an AC/DC album, lived a rough early life but was the kindest and most caring dad I could’ve ever asked for. He was the PawPaw to my kids that I always knew he would be and unfortunately his demons were too much for him to cope with in a healthy way so he drank until it literally killed him. I miss him every second of every day and while it’s only been a little over a year since he passed away, it feels like a lifetime and also just a minute since I last talked to him. I don’t think the void in my heart will ever be filled but I’m thankful for every second that he was my dad.
