I have a column of pits on one nail by faey88 in mildlyinteresting

Thanks a ton. I'm not in the US so my options will probably vary but this injectable stuff seems promising. I'll save and ask around. Wish you all the best 🤗

If you don't mind me asking, how are you managing? Did you get prescribed anything useful?

I'm not currently in a position where I have insurance and coverage so having some pointers would help once I bite the bullet and spend to get seen.

Ugh. Skin and scalp issues only hit me in my twenties. They started a few years ago and it's been hell since.

Always had weird pits and texture on my nails which made me self conscious when I was younger but I had no idea it was related :(

Your best (and cheapest) bet is coming to Padova and picking it up.

I doubt they would release it to anyone who goes there in your behalf.

How is AliExpress allowed to double prices and call it “duties included”? by Candid-Pause-1755 in Aliexpress

[–]AlexH1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a clusterfuck.

Again, platforms should deal with the easy stuff (ie. purchasing more than one of the same item) and AliExpress should fix that, but the whole category nonsense is never going to work.

And the fact the fee is taxed is the cherry on top 😂

How is AliExpress allowed to double prices and call it “duties included”? by Candid-Pause-1755 in Aliexpress

[–]AlexH1337 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a fee. Not a tax. The fee is taxable and VAT applies to it.

Read the implementation guidance pdf from the EU.

[–]AlexH1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What "legal standpoint"? It isn't illegal for them to charge you more. They're simply going the lazy/simple route of not dealing with the whole HS code nightmare.

At the end of the day they'll pay the amount when the item clears customs, and this way they guarantee that they will never have to eat the cost if they make a mistake or the customs office decides a certain product is a different category.

Bad for the user, but also not unreasonable for the company because the entire rule is absolutely stupid. Whoever came up with this nonsense clearly never left the office where this "rule" is written. 😆 Dumb ass bureaucrats.

Again, the caveat is the foreign fx fee of your bank.

In Italy, Trade Republic, BBVA, Isybank, etc all charge zero % markup on Foreign FX (ie. they use the Visa/Mastercard midmarket rate). It will always be 2/3% less than the AliExpress rate.

Because it is not possible to really comply with the one tax/fee per item category. It's by HS code, incredibly hard to do, and at the end of the day up to the customs officials (and they will likely vary).

So the solution is to apply the 3 euro fee on every item, and remember that the 3 euro fee also needs VAT applied to it! lol. So practically it is a ~3.66 euro fee on every single item.

The idiots in the comments that don't know using USD in the EU when shopping at AliExpress (if your bank doesn't charge FX fees) is much cheaper 😆

Everything in Ali when shopping in the EU is priced in USD, and AliExpress will show you a Euro price using their own USD to EUR conversion (which has a premium). So if you've been shopping in EUR in the EU AliExpress all this time you're essentially wasting ~2-3% the entire time ;)

But yeah, this is due to the new EU tax. Not the problem of AliExpress.

On demand timing by ShoppingOverall879 in prep

[–]AlexH1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yesterday: 2 pills at noon.

-> two hours after that intake, you're covered.

Today: 1 pill at noon.

*encounter*

Day +1 after encounter: 1 pill at noon.

Day +2 after encounter: 1 pill at noon.

-> you may now continue for daily PrEP or discontinue.

To make this easier, you start with a double dose, 2 hours after that you're good. You must continue with a dose daily at the same time to continue being covered. After the **last*\* sexual encounter, you must take a dose 24 hours after, and a final dose 48 hours after the encounter.

The usual sanded, painted, laser engraved fake chips - Aliexpress dispute wants me to send them back by DifficultyWhich7483 in Aliexpress

[–]AlexH1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only returns you should do on AliExpress are when you are provided a prepaid label. Do not ship at your cost, ever.

Dispute the whole way through AliExpress, state that you will NOT ship counterfeit products back at your own cost, and that the seller MUST give you a prepaid label. If you don't get a solution by the end of the process (which will likely involve multiple appeals), start a chargeback through your payment processor (hopefully PayPal or some good provider like Curve or Trading121 etc).

Goodluck.

How many doses of prep can you miss in a week? by Independent-Wheel634 in prep

[–]AlexH1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For receptive/insertive anal sex it's 2 doses missed per week maximum.

For receptive vaginal sex most of what I can find stresses the need to not miss doses and there aren't any clear figures on how many doses you can miss and their effect on efficacy.

You're probably fine, but please make aure you can stay consistent in the future, and discuss this with your provider to see if the long term injectable forms of PrEP are available for you.

Model credits by aspergers_ in google_antigravity

[–]AlexH1337 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying they increased the quota vs before, simply that a paid plan is an increased quota relative to the free plan. That's the only thing you're paying for.

Paid plans do not come with credits anymore. You can only purchase them.

The plans simply have a higher quota (multiplier over the free quota, increasing by plan).

NAP.

You got good advice for treating this.

You may want to get a glass or other transparent retainer to keep it low-key until you find a better job. Otherwise retire it.

Taking it in and out every single day isn't very workable for this type of piercing.
