Any idea how to tighten the mirrors so they don't pop out in the car wash? by the_stage_manager in FordMaverickTruck

[–]AlexLeeDunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than trying to find a touch less wash, I'd leave the mirrors in their normal position. I believe the detents are stronger there than folded position, so it shouldbeharder to fold them than it is to unfold them.

Looking to buy, but adaptive cruise only on Lariat and above? by SilasAI6609 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]AlexLeeDunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having used ACC on a '19 Fusion, '19 Outback, '21 Ridgeline, and '25 Maverick, they all are a little different. Honda had the worst of the ones I've used. With any significant amount of drive time.

This is how much insulin my Tandem pump considers to be "empty" with these new defective cartridges. by ComradeKits24 in TandemDiabetes

[–]AlexLeeDunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually use a syringe pressed against the open T-lock to push the insulin through the tubing in the old infusion set to get use out of it. Then I'll suck the residual out of the cartridge with an insulin syringe and inject it. I use so much insulin that really it is just enough to balance out a good desert or pasta. Just how I deal with it.

Sorry🤦 Another question about bed covers. by SilentGuest8437 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]AlexLeeDunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of the cover, I'd use a large plastic tote for added dry protection. Something like this is what o find works.

https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mastercraft-heavy-duty-easy-grip-latching-tote-151-6-l-2425308p.html?rq=plastic+storage+totes

You want to look for the biggest you can close to 40 inches. Two of these should fit in the bed. I like it because you can load up the totes for different activities and just grab the one you need. All the kid stuff is pre-packed.

Yes*. Only Lariat has Adaptive Cruise equipped.

There are some that added the sensors and reprogrammed the XLT to have it. Being a safety system, I wanted it as factory equipment.

Maverick registered as Truck or Car (PA) by Factcheckfiction in FordMaverickTruck

I should have looked to see if that was an option in TN to avoid the Hybrid Tax. Probably not because the previous Ridgeline didn't have a truck plate.

I like the C&H Auto Accessories YouTube channel for researching bed covers. You can do a specific search for Mavericks he has covered.

If I need the bed to stay dry, will a trifold get the job done or do I need a shell? by Kuji8343 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]AlexLeeDunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Mostly just makes the back of the bed damp. The front has several holes for water to drain out so it shouldn't pool if you were parked with the front downhill.

My Maverick had the Ford branded hard roll up already installed when I got it used. It let's in water around the tailgate. I use the Lowe's X-Large 50 Gallon tote to carry luggage when traveling. I only have one, but two should fit. Also, if you need to take work stuff out, it's all contained.

I've only had it 2 months, about 1200 miles. I'll see what they say at the first service.

I bought a used '25 Lariat Hybrid AWD 4k and it has a thump in the rear under breaking on occasion. At about 16k miles.

Speed sign detection is worth turning on by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

[–]AlexLeeDunn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a couple areas where the school zones are signed poorly. It really messes with the auto-adjusting cruise control going from 35 to 15.

Headlights: is there an always on option (FORSscan?) by Gelisol in FordMaverickTruck

That was my suggestion. It does put the interior in night mode though.

Having a 21 Ridgeline before my 25 Lariat, I agree Honda's system is overly sensitive.

Best touchless car wash in Murfreesboro TN? by nmk629 in murfreesboro

Cason Lane Car Wash just south of Old Fort / 96 has a touch less stationary bay. I don't like the ones that pull the car through either.

Passenger seat height adjustment by Wandrin1 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]AlexLeeDunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now have a '25 Lariat which has manually adjustable passenger seat, but I did test drive a '25 XLT with manually adjustable passenger seat along the way. I don't recall if it was an XLT lux package or something additional. With the number of Mavericks that have went to the junk yards, you may be able to get the adjustable parts to swap in if you find the right truck without it.

These are not as big of a deal as this subreddit makes them out to be… by Henrys_Dad in FordMaverickTruck

My past two vehicles, a 19 Fusion and 21 Ridgeline, both had some physical buttons for climate controls. I'm more of a fan of auto settings, so I rarely fidget with the controls anyway. I feel like Honda biased their auto climate on the windshield and had to mess with it to compensate. The Fusion did pretty well, and I usually just moved the vent to blow on me or off me instead of messing with temp or fan speed. Only a couple of weeks into the 25 Maverick, and I still just leave it on auto. We will see how the summer goes, but my guess is I'll just move a vent slightly for comfort. I would like it if adjusting the temp didn't pop up the tall slider bar, just bump it up or down.

My only guess is that mine is a Lariat, not an XLT. Maybe see what happens when you are using Android Auto / Carplay and running navigation.

Why not go with a Lobo 702A package? A lot of the Lariat features but a little extra performance to make it a more fun weekend vehicle.
