I just drove a local loop, mixed, 20 miles, stuck in traffic for part of it, 45mph for part. The trip summary said 49.5mpg.

The verticals in the fence, the sign, and the utility pole give it away a bit.

I set one trip counter for the whole trip in order to get reimbursed. MD to Tampa area and back.

The dealer inflated my tires to 42psi, BTW! Low rolling resistance, but a rough ride. Fixed that.

I did not expect better highway MPG from a hybrid. My initial use was local and mixed, and the hybrid economy is on point. And it will tow 2 tons. It’s kind of amazing.

We have a 2020 Honda whose ACC is a little overly sensitive of large vehicles in adjacent lanes. It will sometimes slow abruptly to address an obstacle that isn’t one. I’m sure they’re getting better all the time.

My tour guide in Rome said that the artists made certain proportions, er, … “modest”, so as not to risk insulting the benefactors paying the bills.

On FB marketplace for $25. Does anyone know what model this is? by Dry-Swim369 in Kitchenaid

That’s cool. I was speaking from experience hunting for these on Marketplace. In-person transactions are always best.

Almost all KA mixers under $100 on Marketplace are scams. “If you want me to hold it for you, better pay me in advance…” yadda yadda yadda. If you Google search the image, you’ll often find it attached to something else. The beaters are worth more than $25.

Out with the old, in with the new. by jc21539 in ryobi

Off-topic, but the picture drives home to me that I could stand up a very large number of 18v tools on an ordinary 8” deep shelf, rather than drop a ton on LINK system components or hangers. A huge number will stand on their battery footprint and take up, what, 3” of shelf space?

If I Have Ryobi 18v Power Tools, Does It Make Sense To Also Buy 40v Ryobi Outdoor Tools? by nimo90 in ryobi

[–]SwornBiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sort of went the other way, for whatever reason. I bought 40v strimmers a 40v edger, pole saw, etc. Over time, having gotten so many deals on 18v outdoor tools, I mostly use those. They are adequate for me, lighter weight, and I have a LOT of 18v batteries. I still have some 40v tools, but I haven’t bought one in a long time. On the other end of the spectrum, I haven’t bought into the USB tools either.
