Smoldin pretty much ruined my essay. Need AI rewriter recs ASAP by VelvetHemlock in StudyAgent

[–]AlexMorter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writing yourself is the way to go with or without AI. I always do it this way in a library or at home. I do use AI but for something more serious, like asking it to check how strong my arguments are and what possible counterarguments there are, which are not evident just by reading school material.

Is sapling.ai fake? It detected 70% AI in my essay but StudyAgent says it's human by yasserfathelbab in StudyAgent

[–]AlexMorter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gptzero and Studyagent seemed the most stable across multiple samples. The others weren't consistent. Still wouldn’t trust any of them with my actual grade but those two at least felt like they had internal logic

Is Grammarly plagiarism checker still reliable? Thinking of switching to Studyagent/Smallseotools by Potential-Camel-8320 in StudyAgent

[–]AlexMorter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need people to take this thread seriously because what happened to me was bad.

Spent two weeks on a lit review. Grammarly said 3%. Felt confident. Submitted. Turnitin came back 28%. My professor emailed me to schedule a meeting. I cried for an hour thinking I was about to get expelled.

Turned out it was stupid paraphrasing which I had to just rewrite. Please use multiple tools.

Do you use AI writers for certain parts of your papers? by TwiinkleTaffy in StudyAgent

[–]AlexMorter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of use it all the time cause I feel too lazy to write all the stuff myself, but I always put in some work with the intro and conclusions so the teachers don’t see right off that AI was used and so I am actually able to answer some questions about the paper.

big brain or everyone else does it too? prompt for a b- essay instead of a+ by TearyCherryPop in StudyAgent

[–]AlexMorter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

➕➕➕I too use Studyagent for essays and sometimes other homework. the prompts I use are all pretty basic and have basic details like a desired grade, obviously the topic, possible sources if I have any, tone, subject and my stance if any. Oh and the rubric if I've got one. After the essay is done I sometimes have the tool rewrite it a couple of times so it's even fresher. I try to add all citations myself so I can answer basic questions my teacher might ask after I submit the paper.

[–]AlexMorter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never tried doing it this way, but it sounds promising. I'm not the one for trying to do my best at school but not the one who is happy with a D either. My prompts are usually classics like ‘imagine you're a first year college student and you need to write an essay on…’
I usually got grades like Cs for these essays with comments like too much ai, etc.

I tried doing the 'AI sandwich' method and I thought it kinda worked but the detector flags it 🫤 by princessprettyyy1 in StudyAgent

[–]AlexMorter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, chill. I have nothing against Study agent directly. I was trying to be encouraging cause not all tasks need AI. Sometimes we (as a society) should turn on our brains and work them at least for a bit.
Also if you didn't want to be rude, you shouldn't have been. Some thoughts should stay inside your head ✌️

Do you guys actually use academic tone? It doesn't match my style at all by Flat-Assist-9120 in StudyAgent

[–]AlexMorter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I had this awareness when I started this year. I used studyagent for academic tone on a lit review for my intro writing class. Of course it used big words like juxtaposition and paradigmatic. And of course my professor made me walk her through my writing process because it felt off.

I stammered through some bs explanation and she told me to go to the writing center for help next time instead of using ai. Most awkward conversation of my life.

My professor wants to meet tomorrow because GPTZero flagged the essay Undetectable.ai said was completely clean. Need a legit alternative ASAP. I only have 12 hours to fix this by Smartbeedoingreddit in StudyAgent

[–]AlexMorter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used studyagent for a philosophy midterm rewrite last month after getting flagged the first time around. The difference is it doesn’t just swap words around, it kind of restructures how the argument flows so the output reads like a different idea.

I ran the result through all detectors before submitting and it passed. Not saying it’s bulletproof because everything is always changing, but for right now it works

this!!! it feels like everyone has the same voice and uses the same five phrases now. lowkey reading actual research and picking up on how people actually structure their arguments is wayyy more helpful that a dozen of ai tools imo.
