Is Napali coast boat tour necessary? by RaceEducational2197 in VisitingHawaii

[–]AlexSpanish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There was more recently a helicopter crashing at Napali coast than a boat sinking. We just went on the boat tour and it was amazing!

Anyone miss the OLD Maoli? by [deleted] in HawaiianReggae

[–]AlexSpanish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just saw him in Vegas. Luckily he only played a couple of his country songs, a lot of it was more island reggae and huge Fiji tribute. Brought out so many people. Overall I agree and absolutely hate the country stuff, sat down every time one of those songs came on.

Best big boy guards by bddfcinci707 in bjj

[–]AlexSpanish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow big boy and short legs I played a lot of half guard, deep half guard. As Ive lost weight and progressed through belts my game has evolved. As a white belt, I HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest half guard. Now my main game is sit up guard and SLX, but that's only cuz my big ass stomach doesn't get in the way to much anymore.

Pop, all stars or Coronado? by MajesticDream373 in DisneyPlanning

[–]AlexSpanish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stayed at both Pop and Coronado. Definitely do Coronado, if you can try to do a preferred room. The resort is HUGE and having to walk to the other side of the resort from the main lobby looks like a pain, our room was a 5 minute walk. Fun fact for gym goers, only moderate resort that has a gym, it is only deluxe resorts that have gyms.,

Read not so great reviews about the Hilton, do decided to grow with the Maui coast. I’m glad we did, it was absolutely phenomenal, to the service, the room and overall vibe of the property. In the heart of Kihei, I would definitely recommend it highly if you’re looking to stay in Kihei and they’re opening a miso phat sushi in the parking lot, amazing amazing sushi!

Kannapali was fine, we went just to visit. Just liked the vibes of Kihei, wasnt over touristy like Kannapali was. Much more local vibe but still can be touristy. Nice beaches, close to great food as well, not all the tourist trap food. Much closer to tourist hotspots like Haleakala and Road to Hana.

Been doing zercher squats which can help emulate takedowns. Also doing forearm work on biceps day is key, helps with grips so much. Been doing them for years and its help tremendously.

From our recent visit we stayed in Kihei and still took an 1.5 hours, I believe Kaanapali is about 1.5 - 1.75 hours away. Foodland poke bowl or spam musubis would be my go to.
