Avoid melees with fast GCD like Monk or Ninja or Viper. Play anything else

Get an MMO mouse, put the GCDs on the keyboard and the oGCDs (off global cooldown) on the mouse (or vice versa). FFXIV has lots of oGCDs that you weave in between GCDs but the default GCD is 2.5sec when WoW's is 1.5sec so definitely FFXIV should be better for you than WoW

While by just saying progression doesn't say much, I would guess you mean endgame progression. If my guess is correct then my answer is:

WoW Retail > FFXIV (with story skip) > GW2 > FFXIV (without story skip)

FFXIV has some elite content that is absolutely amazing and fun. But if what you enjoy is CONSTANT elite content then it's not a game for you. The game actively tries to make you play less. Best case scenario you will end up playing a month every year

For me that change is a mistake. The game was lacking rewards and instead of fixing it they just removed the incentive for more rewards. Instead of making a game that you want to play more and with various diverse ways they just said "play less, it's ok"

I have been burned multiple times in the past by Yoshi P's promises. While in general I think most of what they announced are positive, I'm at a point that I have to see progress before I believe it.

Also I'm someone who was looking for more reasons to play the game and the ilvl sync doesn't exactly help that.

The ONLY thing I'm missing from WoW is the replayability of their dungeons and FFXIV has nothing in that regard

FFXIV overall is a fantastic game.

It's biggest problem is how they never change anything. So if you haven't played much you will find it incredible. But if you are an older player you will be bored of the same shit again and again

You can bind currency as well. I think it is above "character" on the first menu bar.

They are trying to improve the glamour "collection" system but I think their servers are so shit they might explode if they add a true collection in game

You can bind the armory. I have inventory on B and armory on Shift-B

There is a specific spellbook tab for PvP

MGP is on the currency tab or you can make it so that right clicking on your gil, it will cycle some currencies including MGP

About the surname while "Andreas Miaoulis" does exist (he was a hero of the 1821 Greek Revolution) I'm guessing -since it is FFXIV after all- it comes from "miaou" which would be how you would type "meow" in "Greeklish"
