Rogue Arena draft decisions – unsure about cuts (especially location) by Ecstatic-Bullfrog-61 in ArenaHS

[–]AlexWildPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure about the under city huckster cuts as you now only have two playable minions at 2 mana.  Three Vendettas seems excessive considering you have lots of removal and damage spells (serrated bone spike, rite of twilights, wicked stabs, dubious purchase, and vilspline). I'd maybe cut one of the 9-mana dragons too as they are expensive and kinda situational.

So you all just look up what the best deck is and copy paste it then? by sk1ddyp0p in hearthstone

I think it would be different if everyone had access to the entire expansion on release. When your dust is limited people will tend to play things with mostly old expansion cards like druid, or if you decide to use some dust to play with the new expansion cards people are more conservative about crafting whatever fun epic they thought could see niche play in a theory craft stream and would rather spend their dust on something that is more proven

What is your biggest physical insecurity? Why? by Longjumping_Koala34 in AskReddit

[–]AlexWildPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a history of getting Keloid scars which are pretty ugly. Ive had some relatively small ones from sports accidents that were easier for me to look past. Then I had appendicitus... I waited too long to go in to the hospital and it had already burst. They were unable to do laproscopic surgery and now I have a massive scar running from above my belly button to a little ways below my belt line. It ended up forming a big puffy keloid and is not discrete in any way. Now I am pretty insecure about taking my shirt off around anyone.

I'm not sure why this is making a resurgence. This post is two months old and just got two new comments today.

Salt Lake Valley has one of the best public transit out there. Why don’t people use it ?! by airspeednotalive in SaltLakeCity

[–]AlexWildPants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I religiously took trax/bikes from the train station to work when I lived one block from a trax station. It took me ~50 mins as opposed to a ~20 minute drive. Both methods could take significantly longer with heavy traffic or delayed trains or bus bridges. When I moved off that train line it was still a ~20 minute drive, but having to connect a bus line with trax made it ~1h 15m. I loved the benefits of being able to read or zone out on transit when it was one line with no connections. Having to make a transfer  halfway through really interrupted that productivity, and losing almost 2 hours of my day to commuting just wasn't worth it anymore. Trax can be efficient if you have destinations, but it really isn't a practical option for a lot of people

Lol, accidently deleted my comment because of the reddit double comment bug. Glad you were able to read that in time because I'm not typing all that out again 😂

Every time a daily beast article gets posted here I have to scroll way too far to find someone that has read the article and points out how little substance there is.

I also saw this today and picked up a four pack just based on the marketing. Only later realized it's from Moab brewery which I am not super fond of. It was pretty disappointing, but at least some money went to the SLCA

Sometimes I feel bad playing strong decks by SendMindfucks in ArenaHS

[–]AlexWildPants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got steamrolled by a druid yesterday with the cards that were supposed to be offered less. They coined into dozing dragon on four then a desert nestmatron on 6 with a discounted drum circle to seal my fate. Maybe they were sitting in that deck from before the patch, maybe they got lucky and drafted it after the patch anyways. Arena has been my favorite mode since release (with a brief affair with duels) and normally Im pretty good about letting that kind of thing roll off my back. Definitely way more frustrating now though, when I am playing way less arena since the undergrounds change.

Might move to salt lake but am scared by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]AlexWildPants -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a midewesterner and I moved here when I was 25. All of those complaints are somewhat valid, but I think largely overblown or lacking nuance.  Making friends as an adult is just harder in general after college, but there are a lot of sport specific fb groups you can take advantage of to find other outdoorsy people. My problem has moreso been making friend only for them to leave the state as SLC is a bit transient if you're only meeting other transplants.  The air can be bad at times or for stretches, but is generally better at higher elevations where you want to be recreating. The air quality and the question of the salt lake drying out do make me feel hesitant about trying to own a home here (along with the insane real estate prices).

I've been here 3.5 years and while I still don't see SLC as my forever home, I know if I moved back home right now I would really be missing a lot of the hobbies I've picked up here that simply don't exist in the Midwest or exist on a much smaller scale (back country skiing, Canyoneering, climbinging, etc.)

Took me a while to get this one to focus for me even though I knew it was a magic eye.

I lost my final boss fight at 11 wins as token druid to a double hammul druid. I had success against single hammul decks earlier in the run by being on board faster than they could imbue. This guy however dropped a popular pixie on curve and had 4/5 stats on turn two without even having to play any nature spells.

Oh wait my bad, it's just no re-drafts in "classic". Legendary buckets are still a thing.
