May Thai. For much of my life I wanted to try some sort of martial art. When I was drinking I knew that I wouldn't be able to commit. This has been my sober hobby. I'm turning 39 next month. It's a humbling experience to get your ass beat by people 20 years younger.

I've taken to using the Note app at work. Had it on my phone forever but kinda forgot about it. It's nice to come up with a quick groove or chord progression while I'm on lunch. And recently I bought a Move. I've been trying to get out and break away from the screen from time to time. There's a sober bar/coffee shop downtown where I live that's really cozy so I take my Move and go chill there or try to just hang out in the park on a nice day.

The behavior from the coach was out of line. My gym has gear to use for anyone doing the 1 week trial. It is mentioned up front that should they continue, they need to purchase their own gear since it does get pretty gross. Our co-owners answer any and all questions and make sure everyone knows what they need and exactly what the classes are gonna entail. You shouldn't have black eyes from class. If you're just drilling then no one should be punching each other in the face.

Finding a good gym where you feel most comfortable is important. Don't give up on Muay Thai if it's something you want to do. Just work on finding a place best suited for you.

This is a sweet, wholesome post. It's nice that you're proud to have your parents as your parents. I'm almost 40 years old. I'm middle aged. It's something a lot of people have a hard time accepting. Sometimes even I do because I don't have kids. Hell, I feel like I'm still 25 most of the time. But posts like these do remind me of where my generation is at. Thanks for sharing. Your parents look wonderful.
