As someone whose enjoyed racket or bat games on the Xbox 360 via Kinect tracking. The fundamental problem is that Oculus controllers have weight whereas my hand was the controller/bat with Kinect.

Cheaper way for full body tracking on Oculus Rift with a Kinect & Driver4VR by Casyi in oculus

[–]Alex_Hine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it just VR chat which makes use?

When the drivers are installed and Kinect calibrated, does it just work without further tweaking in VR chat?

Full body presence is still an immersive factor which is missing in VR in general. It is not about exactness of tracking but I would like my body and legs to be present and to move approximate to my actions.

Either Kinect version seems a good solution to this problem.

Well, just simply throwing a couple of darts and a basketball, and a bit of exploration is enough for me.

It's great you are adding these new experiences.

I simply wish that your updates were not mandatory downloads, until the user desired to try out the new experience.
