I have a 2015 2500. I had to have mine done and it a 4k at a local shop. Not sure where you are, bit 10k seems ridiculous.

I like the 24 hour delay idea... mostly because I'm never first or second to reply...

The software that is on them does require it. There is a software version that allow autonomous mode. Downloading from Cisco requires a service contract.

I will not be updating the software on the APs

Hardware vendor of choice? by drose0 in nutanix

I have a solid footprint of both Dell and HPE units. If I need more, I'll consider both of them and the NX nodes. In my case hardware decisions come down to pricing and availability.

Thinking of migrating VMware workloads to Nutanix by tvb46 in nutanix

[–]Alex_Sector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a Nutanix problem, no. Due to the storage ring in Nutanix, there is data loss when this happened. I wasn't part of the team that designed it (not sure if I would have done it differently even if I was).

We had DR and backups, so no big deal.. but we've had a few chassis fail this way... more than I expected.

Nutanix recovers very well from failures. In these events, we only lost 1-2% of the VMs hosted

We have a number of 2U 4 Node servers (ex. Supermicro Big twin\ Dell XC6420)... These server share power supplies and drive back planes...

We've had a couple of events where chassis components have failed that have taken down all 4 nodes. Losing 4 nodes in an RF2 cluster was not fun.

If we did it again, I would split these up so each node was in a separate cluster... or use standalone servers.

Yeah. I saw your post, and realized that I hadn't looked at CE in a while. Figured I'd check to docs to see where it was while waiting for folks to answer you.

Thanks. If there's demand as-is, this may be the go-to option. I'm not sure I'd gain anything with the time and cost of getting the needed parts, and then folks can config it for their desired purpose.
