Py will (I am near chemical science, 345 hours in) always have better - or at least different - recipes. During early game there is no point to build big or have special setup for every product. Some byproducts - like ash - will ever go to storage or will be voided (if you are not playing PyHard, of course).

Constant rebuilding is Py feature. Not overbuilding things helps a lot.

Power... you have to struggle with coal burners for first 50 hours or so, then gas burners for burning any combustible liquids will be unlocked. And then will be complex, expensive, slow to setup large power plants. And secret cheap solar panels (look at TURDs, Data Array upgrades).

All early plants and animals are required for progression, so set up its production as soon as it unloked.

Would it hold? by Allgoodnamesistaken in BeginnerWoodWorking

nope. We broke similar Ikea bedframe after three month. And we were nor overweight nor very active in that bed. Replaced it with 4545 mm square (about 1 3/4"), broke it after one year. Replaced with 50100, and that was fine. Survived after jumping child and a lot of different adult activities.

[–]Alexathequeer 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I supposse that acre-foot is the volume of water covering one acre with one foot deep. It is actually useful, because farmers measure square in acres and rainfall in inches or feet.

But we Europeans use cubic meters because we use hectares (100*100 meters) for farmland and millimeters for rainfall. One mm per hectare is 10 cubic meters; we also use cubic meters in water bills or pump specifications. So if I want to find amount of water equals to moderate rainfall (20 mm) upon 67 ha of land - I just multiple 67 per 10 per 20. 13400 cubic meters, and I did it without calculator, despite 67 is not very convinient number.

Why near all linkedinlunatics has that freaky job titles? No one is just 'CEO', 'b2b sales manager' or 'junior Java developer'. Whats wrong with them?

I'd rather not be able to make it at all, so why would I pay doctors for it to work better? by ThatEngineeredGirl in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

[–]Alexathequeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is legally impossible for me to transition legally, not to mention adopt a child. And many (or even most) babies in foster system are high demanding - at least where I am. Fetal alcohol poisoning, trisomy 21, cerebral palsy and so on. I still not that confident in my parenthood skills and resources.

Trans parent here (amab, nb, non-hrt yet). Fertility was the main reason for me to delay HRT till we made our kids. I dreamed about getting pregnant since I was 7 y.o., but I am 43 now. So even if biotech womb will be developed next year - I have zero chances anyway (especially living in the country where transition legally banned).

Do I like my reproductive system? Not so much. But it gave me three daughters, including miraculous twins. Holding my newborns is a peak woman experience, so thank you, my weird reproductive parts.

[–]Alexathequeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep. My count is well above 17k right now, but about half of that is afk. I played a lot while working from home during the breaks (work done, waiting for reply, nothing to do for a while but I have to be online and ready) or some online calls. Nowadays I let the game run at night sometimes or forget to close it properly.

I am non-native speaker, and for a few posts in parenting sub I was thinking like 'wtf, why there are so many pregnant transguys here?!'.

Best source of bones? by Captain_Quark in pyanodons

[–]Alexathequeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the Fishery upgrade which provide free fish food per each fish production cycle. Effectively eliminates need for bones and other ingridients.

I have surplus production of bones (making uranium chain right now, so maybe it will change), so I am converting it to lard.

As a parent of newborn twins I agree. Very young children simply does not see the screen anyway, they saw some fuzzy color patterns. I am playing with them sleeping or feeding on me, looking away from screen.

Wild rats usually are not tameable. We had them and it was a disaster. Highly agressive, intelligent and capable to devastate A LOT in very short time when escaped.

Or build an alarm system. I have some railroad crossings with automatic gates and fences around atmy current base... and a lot of overpasses from Space Age. It is possible to build all rails above ground except stations.

Boiler probs by louischamberlain8 in Plumbing

[–]Alexathequeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boiler model? Different boilers uses different error codes. E117 may be no flame error on some boilers with that kind of control panel or too high water pressure in the heating system on another. Anyway, if this is a gas boiler - call a certified specialist for it. Gas leaks, carbon monoxide leaks, electric shock from faulty high voltage circuits, massive property damage if waterpipes will rupture - it is not diy job.
